Third Floor Common Room - Late Thursday Morning
Contrary to popular belief, Chuck was not an idiot. At least he wasn't the type of idiot who would actually go out once he heard shit about zombies on the radio. No, he'd save that for the dumbasses here than fancied themselves heroes. He'd stay indoors and not get eaten, thank you very much. Call him selfish, a coward, whatever. He wasn't getting himself killed. Making him smarter than you.
Now he was proving his smarts by showing that he could survive on his own without calling in for food. He was proving this by making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich by himself. Yeah, bread, peanut butter, knife, jelly. The whole deal.
He still had time to cut off his hand so try not to get too excited.
[The common room is oh-so-open]

Or unlife.
"Chuck," he said, nodding a greeting. "Did you hear radio today? It was all about zombies."

Because, again, he wasn't stupid.

He tilted his head at Chuck. "You wouldn't fight to defend the castle?"
it was possible he didn't know Chuck all that well.
no subject
That sounded a lot better than 'Hell no, I wouldn't!'

Chuck didn't really fall into that category (at all, by his estimation), but the common room was the first logical place to take stock. "Chuck. Has there been any sign of zombies within the dorms?"
In case Chuck would know.

Today wasn't it.
"Good," he said. "They've mainly been swarming the streets of town, by what I've been able to tell. Be careful where you tread."
no subject
He wasn't brave either, obviously.

"Well, many seem to be," he said, dryly. Arthur preferred back-up for his stupidity (but would still opt for the lone variety if no one was handy). He glanced past Chuck into the rest of the common room, looking for any faces. "The Lady Zoe will organise a concentrated effort soon enough. We'll have to keep our numbers up in case they're needed."
And yet he was still halfway naive enough to believe that if pressed, Chuck would take up arms anyway.

"Hey, Chuck. Guys." Not really paying attention to said people in question. Places to be. Things to fight.

That would've been Arthur, catching her mid-return-from-said-fridge.
