The Salle, Monday Morning

The lack of classes meant Arthur would be spending more time in the salle than usual (if that was even possible), and he hadn't wasted too much time getting there that morning. His arm was coming along nicely, and so he took a practice blade for his left.

Might as well get some simple drills in while he waited.

"With ropes?" Tahiri thought she spotted an opening and darted in with an open-palm strike. "That's the easy way."

Which was not to say it wasn't the way she'd use. She just felt like being a pain.

Adding in that little spin she always saw Arthur do, Dinah tried to slash at Tahiri's wrist again, rolling her eyes. "And if we get someone from suburban America, who's never even rock-climbed? We can't all jump off a six story building and be okay, Helena." Dinah stuck out her tongue even as she grinned.

The look Tahiri gave her was pure pain-in-your-butt mischief, and she took the hit but countered with a kick at the ankle -- ha! -- in response. "Is that a compliment?"

Yes. No. Sort of? Whatever it was, it was affectionate. "Maaaaybe. And ow!" Dinah laughed and swung her sword up again, trying to score on Tahiri's shoulder, having way too much fun. "She can jump off a five-story fire escape without effort. Sometimes she 'forgets' it's not that easy for the rest of us."

Tahiri grinned and brought her staff up to catch Dinah's sword in a circular bind. "You mean it's not?"

Yeah, definitely bratty today.

"Pbbbbttt." Dinah shook her head at her, then pulled her practice sword back to free it. "Just for that, you should have to float down from the roof on your own. With your new little sib on your back!"

"Maybe I will," Tahiri said, flipping Dinah a jaunty salute with the staff.
