The Salle, Monday Morning

The lack of classes meant Arthur would be spending more time in the salle than usual (if that was even possible), and he hadn't wasted too much time getting there that morning. His arm was coming along nicely, and so he took a practice blade for his left.

Might as well get some simple drills in while he waited.

Tahiri snorted, scrambled up off the floor, and went for the tickle attack. "I can't ever picture him tickling anyone."

"Think he'd make Merlin do it?" Ben asked, giggling.

"Yes," Tahiri decided, then blinked. "You've been letting me tickle you!"

Which was not as much of an obvious statement as it might have seemed.

Ben's cheeks went pink. "Yeah."

"Well, it's about time," Tahiri said lightly, mostly teasing, but with a definite note of relief.

He laughed a little nervously. "I've been working at it."

[weetuskenraider]

"I know," Tahiri said, "and I've been working on not pushing."

Thus things like attempting to build gaderffii.

He reached for her hand. "I appreciate it."

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri curled her fingers gently around his hand and admitted, "It's been . . . a learning experience."

He leaned his head against her shoulder. "I know."

[weetuskenraider]

"It's not a bad thing," Tahiri assured him, carefully shifting to rest her head against his. "Told you you weren't a bad influence."

"Good to hear," he said, moving to stand up. "Done working out?"

"I think so, yeah," Tahiri said, and comfortable or not she got to her feet.

"Want to get ice cream?"

He was mostly teasing.

"Depends," Tahiri retorted, laughing. "Can you still see your toes?"

Ben made a show of checking. "Yes."

Tahiri tapped a finger against her lips and looked very, very thoughtful. "In that case, maybe one scoop."

"One big scoop?" Ben tried.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri raised an eyebrow at him, but she couldn't even pretend she wasn't trying not to laugh. "Oh, now you're pushing your luck."

"Skywalker," Ben pointed out, reaching for her hand. "It's what we do."

[weetuskenraider]

Oh, as if she'd not let him take her hand. "Uh huh. Good thing for you I'm used to that."
