There was a huge pile of stuff on the bed in alcove A1, because with a day free of classes, Francine had figured she might as well schlep her things over at a leisurely pace.

You know what wasn't in the huge pile of stuff on the bed in alcove A1? The marshmallows. Or the Hershey bars. Or the graham crackers.

Or Francine, because she was out by the campfire trying to get it started. Putting away her huge pile of stuff could wait. There were s'mores to be gobbled made.

"I haven't done this since..." Francine laughed. "Well, last summer. But I missed it."

"Who wouldn't?" She grabbed a stick and put a marshmallow on it, tentatively hovering it over the fire. "This is one of the best parts about camping."

"Mmm-hmm," Francine agreed. "This and weenie roasts and barbecue..." She could go on for a while, yes.

Chie took a moment to think how wonderfully delicious all that sounded. Even if she did eat a lot at the picnic yesterday. "... Oh man, now I'm really cravin' for all that."

Francine laughed. "Well, all I've got is marshmallows right now, but I guarantee you there'll be all of the above before the summer's over." Probably before the month was over, given the Fandom tendency towards hey, it's Tuesday, let's have a party to celebrate.
