There was a huge pile of stuff on the bed in alcove A1, because with a day free of classes, Francine had figured she might as well schlep her things over at a leisurely pace.

You know what wasn't in the huge pile of stuff on the bed in alcove A1? The marshmallows. Or the Hershey bars. Or the graham crackers.

Or Francine, because she was out by the campfire trying to get it started. Putting away her huge pile of stuff could wait. There were s'mores to be gobbled made.

Francine cocked her head at the cabin. "I think she'd get more paranoia mileage out of LBJ."

"She not a fan of the Great Society?" Griff asked.

"She's not a fan of anything that came out of the state my mom and dad moved us off to and away from Tennessee," Francine said, with a slight eyeroll.

"Ah! And where did you move to, then?" His knowledge of presidents was limited.

"Texas," she answered. "We've had worse presidents come out of there, that's for sure."

"Also that Riggins guy," Griff replied. "Texas make you a football fan?"

"It's okay." She shrugged. "You can't really really get away from it in Houston, plus my brother goes to UT. There's new people here from Texas?" She hadn't met that Riggins guy yet.
