Main Campfire, Tuesday Evening

Alex felt restless enough to emerge from his alcove and head out to the main campfire again. It was easier to both smoke and stay warm since it'd gotten weirdly cold over the last few days. Whatever. He was from Iowa. He was used to this type of weather.

Didn't mean he would pass up a fire.

So, he slouched down against a log, crossing his feet at the ankle and leaning back to blow smoke into the air. It was the second week of classes and, amazingly, they weren't going that badly. Of course, considering the classes, Alex didn't know how they could go badly.

He'd take the good news while he could. It didn't happen often.

[campfires are open things!]

That sort of response was expected; not that she minded, either. "The size isn't so bad," Chie responded, glancing around some. "Just checking around what's going on anywhere, or keeping myself active around the campsite-- when I'm not in classes."

She shrugged. "Everyone keeps saying weird stuff happens here all the time, but all I've seen so far was the glitter."

It wouldn't be the first thing to come to her mind that would explain what's going on, but... "And here I thought it was some prank or act at first. But even one of my teachers was completely serious about it."

Chie blinked, considering it. "I can't believe they'd actually do something like that around here."

"It started off nice enough," she said. "And, well ... It's not like I want to think badly of anybody."

She looked a bit sheepish about it, but answered anyway; "Yeah, I try to."

Yeah, she could name some people like that, too. "Don't worry about it. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't."

"Sure seems like there's enough to go around." Mostly because there definitely was a lot more cheeriness floating around than between most people Chie could think of back home. Maybe it was the different environment. "Even with whatever weirdness that I've heard, it still feels like a pretty nice place."

"You don't like weird?" she asked playfully.

"Alright, I get it," Chie responded with a short laugh. "I'd rather see it to believe it. But even then, I don't think it still would make any sense."

"Nooooo thank you," Chie replied quickly. "That's your version, not mine."

"I ... am fond of others being clothed," Chie decided to point out. "But if you want to pay them to see it do so for yourself, I won't be stopping you."
