LBJ Campfire, Thursday Night

Sometime during the day, Sam had come to a sad realization - he hadn't had nearly enough s'mores for the amount of time they'd been out at the cabins. When the evening rolled around and the sun finally went down, he lit the cabin's campfire and set himself up with all the necessary supplies, to cook for himself and for anyone else who sat down.

It wasn't long before he figured out that his marshmallow roasting stick was also good for keeping tiny moose away from the fire. It was kind of amazing how this place still found ways to weird him out, even after all this time.

Seeing the extended hand, Yakko picked up the tiny moose he rode in on and tried to hand it to Karla.

They hadn't learned THAT in Etiquette.

"You probably have. Sorry I didn't introduce myself before, but I didn't have a moose to offer."

Karla wasn't tried enough to play along, "Oh, thank you!" she explained, gently taking the moose from him. "I shall cherish him as a symbol of our love forever."

She glanced back over to him--"You were aware, of course, that in Kaeleer, the exchange of minimized animals is a sign of undying devotion and a proposal of marriage, right?"

"You're taller than me, so you're going to have to carry me across the threshold," Yakko said, making an attempt to jump into Karla's arms. When she was already holding the moose.

Yakko often didn't plan things out very well.

"Hellfires!" Karla set the little moose on a patch of air for a minute as she tried to catch Yakko. It didn't work out very well--Yakko hit, Karla staggered backwards, and down they both went.

The moose was safe though, standing on the air and watching them curiously.

"I didn't know Francois could fly!" Yakko said, more focused on the airborn moose than his current situation.

[I am a ho, yes. Don't pretend you don't like it!]

"He can't!" Karla said, grunting under Yakko's weight. "He's airwalking." Shove. "And if you don't get off me," small gasp "I'm going to vanish you into a fishpond."

Yakko pulled a swim mask and snorkel out of his pocket. "I could go for a swim," he said, not moving at all.

And suddenly found himself in the fish pond if his mun doesn't mind the mod. A small school of fish had been swimming in that general area, but swam off in startlement at his very loud, very splshy arrival.

Since the mun was totally up for the mod, Yakko started chasing after the fish because he had a great joke to tell them, despite the fact that he couldn't really talk underwater.

Alas, his short attention span meant that his new fiance was quickly forgotten for now.

Karla picked herself up off the ground, stared disbelievingly in the direction of the fishpond, and just shook her head. She was far too tired to even think about what just happened.

She did grab the moose and spend some time cuddling him. Poor little guy.

[Good call. We'll have to continue our deathless romance another time.]
