LBJ Campfire, Thursday Night

Sometime during the day, Sam had come to a sad realization - he hadn't had nearly enough s'mores for the amount of time they'd been out at the cabins. When the evening rolled around and the sun finally went down, he lit the cabin's campfire and set himself up with all the necessary supplies, to cook for himself and for anyone else who sat down.

It wasn't long before he figured out that his marshmallow roasting stick was also good for keeping tiny moose away from the fire. It was kind of amazing how this place still found ways to weird him out, even after all this time.

"It does come in handy sometimes. My uncle was fond of telling me I could not go places. I was more fond of defying him whenever possible." Karla found Dean easy to talk to; he was like his brother in that regard.

"You're Sam's elder brother, yes? I'm his Younger Sibling. So, in a very roundabout and symbolic fashion, we're related. Kiss kiss."

"I see Sammy lucked out in the sibling lottery this time round," Dean complimented her.

She gave him a smirk. "Now how do you know that I'm not a giant pain in the ass? Or a rampaging bitch?"

Technically, Karla was both. She'd just been behaving nicely while she settled in. Breaking rules was more fun once you knew exactly what they were.

"I'm a good judge of character," Dean said. "And cute blondes that can walk through things and like breaking the rules? Definitely a win in my book."

There was that blonde thing again. Karla was tempted to rifle through her Sexual Anthropology notes and ask Dean if he found blondes particularly sexually attractive. However, she soon decided against it. That kind of harassment was acceptable only when a witch knew a male well enough. She'd save the question for the next time they ran into one another.

"Well, I guess there's no reason to ask why you're the TA for Spy Games," she laughed. "Have you ever been an Elder Sibling? I mean, besides from Sam and..." she groped for the name, "Grace?"

"Every term until I graduated," Dean said. "Being a big brother's kinda my thing."

"I've never had siblings. In Kaeleer, most of the shortlived witches only bear a single child. I'm lucky that Sam is my Elder Sibling, as he is quite kind."
