Third floor common room, Saturday evening

The week before, Leto had been given a DVD by professor Mitchell, which was supposed to clarify certain questions Leto had had regarding British comedy. He hadn't had the opportunity to watch this until now. So this evening Leto was seated on the couch in front of the TV, watching Dark Serpent, the frown on his face increasing.

"Great Maker, are they insane?"

[Open, certainly]

"If it is, it's sad rather than funny," Leto replied.

Arthur watched the show for a few solid minutes, trying to get used to its patterns and things and--

"That's right. And Field Marshal Hay is worried this may be depressing the men a tad. So he's looking for a way to cheer them up."
"Well, his resignation and suicide seems the obvious choice."

He cracked up.

Leto stared at him.

"This is actually quite good," Arthur said, once he'd finished laughing through I'll make a note of it. "Surprisingly enough. What were you saying?"

"I don't find it funny." Leto frowned.

[bitchprince]

Arthur shot him a look that communicated that clearly Leto had no sense of humor to speak of.

"I suppose it depends," he said, diplomatically.

[future_sandworm]

"Yes, clearly it does." The look Leto gave him in return said that Arthur had a sense of humour equivalent to a Corrino kitchen maid.

Leto was lucky Arthur didn't know anything about Corrino kitchen maids.

"Glad we're in agreement," he said, ignoring the look entirely (thus proving himself the better person).

"No, I thought I'd get my headstone done."
"What are you going to put on it?"
"Here lies Edward Darkserpent, and he's bloody annoyed!"

He didn't laugh very hard, but he did send Leto a slight glance during the whole exchange.

"He'd be less annoyed if he got rid of that servant," Leto pointed out. "And that other idiot who is clearly a danger to his fellow soldiers."

"Sometimes, Leto," Arthur said, with all the wisdom in the world, "You wind up with useless servants you really can't get rid of."

[future_sandworm]

"And wasting your time making up stupid insults is the best way to deal with the situation?" Leto shook his head.

[bitchprince]

Like Arthur needed to even think about that.

"Yes."

[future_sandworm]

There was a pause. "I have to disagree with you there."

[bitchprince]

Arthur shrugged. "It's good fun," he said, idly.

[future_sandworm]

There was a longer pause. "Perhaps I'm not surprised." There was Merlin, After all.

[bitchprince]

"Mm," Arthur hummed, without commitment.

He was laughing every time Darkserpent made a particularly vile insult.
