Fifth floor common room, Saturday evening

After detention there had been some time to check messages and figure out if there was anything she needed to catch up on after spending her morning cleaning up alligator parts, and then she'd gone for the second shower. Her priorities were a bit skewed, but 'ew' was 'ew'.

Since she had some time on her hands, she settled into the common room of her apparently adopted floor with popcorn and her comlink on the table in front of her, flipping through channels and being really glad that Scifi's monster movies tonight had nothing to do with lizards.

When the game she was watching got to halftime, Tahiri wandered up a floor with an odd look on her face and stuck her head into the common room.

"You're sure you don't have any relatives in this galaxy, right?"

"Just the two currently here..." said Jaina, suddenly afraid. "What? Who now?"

"I've been watching some sport downstairs. One of the players is named Solo. Last name, I mean." Yes, Tahiri looked significantly weirded out by that, still and blamed her player for being an utter hopeless dork.

"I don't have any known relatives who are sports players," she said slowly while her player was giggling. "I think I'm deciding that unless they're here, I don't have the brain to worry about it."

"Probably a good idea." Tahiri shrugged. "Anyway, she let in a goal."

[solo_sword]

"Is that good or bad?" Jaina wondered.

[weetuskenraider]

"Well, her team's losing now," Tahiri said, a bit annoyed by it, irrational as that might be. "So I'm leaning more toward 'really weird coincidence' than 'unexpected relative.' Just, you know, had to ask."

[solo_sword]

Jaina looked at her. "Are you getting into the game based on her name?" she asked. Because that would be cute.

"No," Tahiri said quickly. Except totally yes. Ahem. "I mostly don't get the game."

[solo_sword]

Uh huh. "I'm sure there's probably someone here who knows it inside and out," she said. "So the next time you watch, you can get it."

What? Tahiri was totally innocent here. "I don't think I'll make a habit out of that."

"I'm just saying, if you watched it long enough to not get it..."

[weetuskenraider]

"Yeah, speaking of which . . ." Tahiri checked her chrono. "I think the second half's starting now. I'm going to go see if not-your-relative can manage to not let them score on her again." Except she'd let in another goal in the 50th. Sigh.

"Good luck to my not-relative," Jaina said, completely amused by this. "Go, team!"
