It wasn't often that Jon was awake before 7am these days. He'd managed to avoid that by making sure his classes weren't first hour and it being summer. Of course, from the looks of things, it's highly possible (and is a fact) that he didn't go to bed the night before.

On the plus side, at some point he had gone out and bought boxes of donuts and there was coffee going for those who wanted it.

"Well, it starts to lose it's impact when everyone's doing it," Angela said, leaning back in the couch with a smile. "And it's a lot of energy for not a lot of gain."

"Not to mention that people probably look at you a little weird if it goes on too long."

"Exactly," she said, and sipped at her coffee. "I mean it's all very well for the first, like, couple of weeks? But then... there's glitter rain, and mutant alligators, and you can't really freak out about the little time differences or whatever else."

"And supposedly future children or something like that." Because he'd been told about that one. And was having nightmares.

"Mine were adorable," Angela said cheerfully. No nightmares here. Not that she intended on having them any time soon.

... Or at all, in the case of Chuck's kid, cute as he was in an evil sort of way.

"Tiring, but adorable."

"Honestly, what's the weirdest thing to ever happen here?" Maybe there was something that would make the kid thing seem, well, not as weird.

Angela bit her lip a little at that. "Weirdest or... There's crazy, and there's bad. Zombies were-- they were bad." Understatement.

"Turning into a guy or a five year old, also weird but... nicer." A lot nicer.

He chuckled and shook his head. "You know, when they told me that this place was a little less normal than the schools back in Colorado, I don't think this is what they meant."

"Usually isn't," Angela agreed with a laugh. "I think the word my dad used was 'quirky', which doesn't even start to cover it."

"You mean you haven't written any 'Dear Dad, you forgot to mention the alligators' letters yet?" Because he was totally going to put this in his next email.

"He's better off not knowing," Angela decided, shaking her head. "I think he might freak and pull me out of school."

Innocent talking frogs were one thing, zombies and killer aliigators, quite another.

"Not something I have to worry about. What I have to worry about it people showing up to run tests and study the place." Because the geeks were, well, geeks.
