Sixth Floor | Monday Morning | June 1

It was a brand new month and, while he was still feeling slightly under the weather, Fraser was feeling better than he had all last week. A weekend of rest was very helpful.

"Good morning," he said once the crew had assembled. "We've completed the ripping out of the carpeting. Thank you for all your help. Now, of course, we're going to prep for both the new tile and carpeting to be laid. That requires the floor underneath to be cleaned and the carpeting and tile to be hauled from the ground floor to the sixth floor. Be careful, work in pairs, and work at your own pace. Once the floor is prepped and the materials are here, we'll begin laying the new floor."

Fraser gave them all a nod and gestured for them to get to work.

Peter spotted Sam after he put down one of his carpet hauls. He smiled and came over to meet him. "Hey."

"Hey. You look like you're having fun," Sam teased.

"Feel free to join in if you want," Peter teased back.

"And take work away from you guys? I would never do that to you," Sam said, laughing. "You might get bored or something. I'm happy to stick to moral support and provisions."

"What kind of provisions?" Peter asked.

Sam offered Peter one of the bags he had, with his sandwich in it. "In this case, it's lunch," he said. "I can't have you getting worn out and starving."

"You know," Peter said, as he took the bag, "you might just be the best boyfriend ever."

"I'm certainly going for the nomination," Sam said. "And it's not like I don't have months and months of you visiting me in the library to make up for."

"No making up needed," Peter said. "Though I won't turn down donuts if you brought them."

"The making up is needed as far as I'm concerned. I only have chips, but I'll remember donuts for next week," Sam promised.

"Salt is good too," Peter said. He rooted around in his bag for the chips. "So how's your day going?"

"Pretty well. Drama class was kind of fun," Sam said, sitting down and digging into his own lunch. "And there was no manual labor."

"You're just rubbing this in, aren't you?" Peter asked, grinning.

"Only a little. I can't mock too much - you did choose the hotter option, after all."

"You know if you wanted to rub something in later I might not say no," Peter suggested. "Especially if it was something like massage oil."

"I can totally do that," Sam said. "I'll take care of everywhere you ache, I promise."

"Ooo - I really like the sound of that." Peter moved to bump his hip against Sam's.

Sam grinned and bumped Peter back. "I'll take good care of you. You just have to ask."

"And remember to say pretty please?" Peter replied with a grin.

"You don't have to," Sam said. "But I won't really stop you."

Peter stepped closer. "What if I wanted to show instead of tell?"

"I really, really won't stop you?" Sam replied.

"Good to know," Peter said, and he went in for a kiss.

Sam kissed Peter back softly, not caring who else could see them.

Peter didn't care who saw either. Though he did pause kissing long enough to say, "Dinner in our room tonight?"
