Third Floor Common Room - Monday after classes - 06/01
It had been far too long since Liir had been in a kitchen, and by that we mean he'd been out of one for more than a day. After the somewhat startling experience Sunday, well, he was quite prepared to settle into a bit of normality and get himself covered in flour. Makejoy stayed out of the kitchen as she'd been trained, flopped at the edge of the carpet to watch her very silly daddy work.
Nonetheless, as silly as he was, he'd decided to make something that smelled rather delicious, so if someone else happened to wander by, well, Liir certainly wouldn't blame them for grabbing a few off the plate whether they stayed or not.
Next, of course, there was soup to get to, but all in good time...

"Otherwise, how have you been? Like you said, its been sometime since we've spoken."
no subject
"I've been well," he admitted, starting to chop up ingredients.
"Busy. Planning and all. But now I'm a bit at ends. What about yourself?"
no subject
"Planning what?" she asked, leaning back against the counter. "I've kept busy, I suppose, and planning my trip home after this semester."
no subject
"Finished it up this weekend. It was... useful, but not really pleasant."
He turned back around once he'd gotten a smile on.
"What's at home this semester?"
no subject
It was her turn to cast her gaze away.
"My family." Quiet. Simple. Evasive.
no subject
"Understood."
Which meant that she was welcome to say as much or as little on the subject as she liked. He had his own hangups about family, of course.
"Probably in a few weeks, if only to visit Trism and see how things are progressing."

She sipped her milk.
"I still find it fascinating that so many of us come from so many different places. Amazing places. The stuff storybooks are made of."
no subject
He was curious, after all.
no subject
"Not exactly, but I've read many."
And it wasn't a consideration that her own fabulous life could be written among pages. Her nose, her ears; she was just a freak.
Ah, but freaks lived in storybooks too, didn't they?

He was a little better than he thought he was. Maybe.

She grinned.
"You have a reason to be romantic, even if you say you aren't. I'm certain Amber might disagree?"
no subject
"Though seduction is teaching me things. I liked the flower language, honestly."
