Third Floor Common Room - Monday after classes - 06/01
It had been far too long since Liir had been in a kitchen, and by that we mean he'd been out of one for more than a day. After the somewhat startling experience Sunday, well, he was quite prepared to settle into a bit of normality and get himself covered in flour. Makejoy stayed out of the kitchen as she'd been trained, flopped at the edge of the carpet to watch her very silly daddy work.
Nonetheless, as silly as he was, he'd decided to make something that smelled rather delicious, so if someone else happened to wander by, well, Liir certainly wouldn't blame them for grabbing a few off the plate whether they stayed or not.
Next, of course, there was soup to get to, but all in good time...

"You're welcome to some of the cookies, and the soup as soon as it's done."
Yes, food came before introductions.

"What kind of soup?"

"I make a lot more than I eat, so I usually leave the tureen for anyone else to take from."

Looks like someone had gotten a start on her new languages.

"You're welcome?"

"I'm Valentine, by the way," she offered, "and these are very good cookies."
no subject
"Liir. And I'm glad you like them."

"Penelope, hello. How've you been? Seems like ages, really."

She reached in the cabinet for a glass.
"Have you been well?"
no subject
"I've been home, after all."

"Amber and I had a good time in the market," he said with a nod.
Which was true even if it wasn't really true.

"Shopping," she said, grinning. "What girl doesn't like it?"
Except Penelope. She's not had the chance to enjoy it much.

Today, in honor of her arts class earlier, she was dressed in a purple beret, plaid overalls in green and lavender, and a lime green tank top.

"You're welcome to some," he said without turning back around. The last batch was cooling, but the first batch had already been iced and set out. Now for the soup.

He'd already set aside a small box for Elspeth.

...he knew the kind you had when there was no other choice. He couldn't imagine giving up actual food to eat it.
