Third Floor Common Room - Monday after classes - 06/01
It had been far too long since Liir had been in a kitchen, and by that we mean he'd been out of one for more than a day. After the somewhat startling experience Sunday, well, he was quite prepared to settle into a bit of normality and get himself covered in flour. Makejoy stayed out of the kitchen as she'd been trained, flopped at the edge of the carpet to watch her very silly daddy work.
Nonetheless, as silly as he was, he'd decided to make something that smelled rather delicious, so if someone else happened to wander by, well, Liir certainly wouldn't blame them for grabbing a few off the plate whether they stayed or not.
Next, of course, there was soup to get to, but all in good time...

"Liir. And I'm glad you like them."

"And take as many as you like."
He turned to lean against the edge of the counter.
"I'm from, well, a different place entirely, to be frank, but it's pretty much in the past, though I've gotten used to the tik tokishness."
In some respects. In others, not so much.

"Tik tokishness?" she repeated, with a grin that said that she liked the sound of that. "You mean machinery, right?"
no subject
"Not specifically. Not everything that's modern is tik tokishness. It's a bit more than that."
He picked up one of the cookies himself and took a bite, pleased with his work.

He put his arms on the counter and rocked back with a quirk of his lips.
"Anything that does what a person does, as if they were a person. Back home there are proper tik toks, little automatons, and they're not well trusted by any number of people. I know for a fact one's killed before."
Well, he couldn't see Elphaba lying about it, especially so vehemently.

"Exactly. We call them tik toks. Some of them are a little more advanced than what I've seen here. Almost like... droids? I think that's what they're called?"

"I'm no Unionist, but it still gives me trouble sometime. Do you have that sort of thing where you're from?"

That sounded, well, different.

In a nutshell.
