"Today," Arthur called, once enough had gathered on the field, "We have two matters to discuss with you before we continue to the work of the day. First of all, all of you who have 'phone numbers', please exchange them with us and your fellow reserve members. This will help communication come the next attack. Also, you may have noticed the magic and support reserves that are currently being set up on the island; if you have any skills to lend there as well, I'd like you to show up. We can use everyone we've got." That over with, he rolled his shoulders, and nodded at the ~~modded, oh so modded~~ puppy up front. And then at Leto. "Second of all..."

Leto glanced at him, and then turned to the group. "We have decided to have Zack join us as leader for the reserve. His military experience will certainly be useful, and with the three of us to organise you will get a quicker response to any questions you might have." Also, Zack was cheerful. That could be an advantage, at least during planning meetings with Arthur.

As long as Zack didn't try hugging him in front of Leto, all should be fine. Arthur scraped his throat. "Now that that's over and done with, today is about learning what you're dealing with. I want you all to pick a partner who uses a weapon you have no proficiency in. Today, and over the course of the week, the two of you should learn as much as you can about the weapon, and the strategies that can be used with it."

"And as usual, if you have any questions or anything you want to discuss, don't hesitate to talk to us," Leto added.

"That will be all," Arthur finished, and nodded. "Get to it!"

Arthur had not planned on any sword innuendo today. Or hugs. He was, however, around, and occasionally shooting glances at their new third.

To make sure there wouldn't be any further hugs.

Leto hadn't seen any hugs, so he wouldn't mind those. Sword innuendo was getting a little old though. Not that he would complain, really.

He was also here, and approachable.

Fiona was here, of course, and as she listened to what they would be doing today, looked down at her yo-yos.

...this should be interesting.

Fiona pulled out her phone and wiggled it in the air so people knew that she was up for trading numbers.

She wasn't looking to be very picky. After all, her experience was very low... and she had a weapon probably no one short of Himura was going to be familiar with.

Leto approached her, smiling in greeting. "So, you've got a phone, too, now?"

She nodded.

"I bought it the other day when I was out with Zack," she said, grinning just a little.

"I've been playing with it way too much, but I still haven't figured everything out."

As far as Tahiri was concerned, Zack getting that third leader spot could only be a good thing; the cheerfulness was definitely welcome.

She was still in a good mood after flight class. She'd been in a pretty consistent good mood for a while now, actually; this could last as long as it wanted to ~~mwahaha~~.

"Fiona?"

He was not looking to annoy her lest she annoy him, but he had a Blackberry, and numbers had to go in it, which was probably why he was holding it in front of him.

Arthur, it's a phone, not a dagger.

"Arthur," she said dryly before putting her fingers over the buttons.

"What's your number? Mine is ~~handwavey~~."

Tahiri would be very glad sword innuendo was optional; oh, the flailing there would be.

Being unaware of that condition, though, what she was doing as she waited was picking at a frayed bit on the cuff of her sleeve and pondering what exactly qualified as "proficient." She'd never actually used an amphistaff, but she remembered training with one. (Thanks for that, Mezhan Kwaad, really.) Did that count?

. . . nah.

"Neither have I," Leto replied, not that he had actually been playing. He had figured out how to use it for the purpose Reno had given it to him - that was all.

"Here is my number," he said, showing her, stepping close.

Zack, of course, was always up for entirely unintentional sword innuendo or hugs, and would take whatever opportunity came up for either!

Also, he was kind of bouncing from foot to foot in excitement. But really, that shouldn't be considered news to anyone, should it?

That made her breathe a little easier.

"Here's mine," she offered, speaking the numbers as she entered his in.

Worf was not a mingler. Very much not a mingler.

But he was still there. Let's just call it a perpetual state of arrival.

Worf held out his number as well as the communication frequency for his combadge.

"This should suffice," Worf replied. "The combadge frequency will allow you to summon me anywhere."

Zack did some grinning, and Zack did some bouncing, but more importantly, Zack pulled out his phone and held it up so that people could see that yes, his was totally there, too, and he'd be happy to exchange numbers with anyone who had numbers to exchange!

It took him a minute or so to get the number in (but that was a vast improvement on how he'd been about it earlier, not that he was telling her that) before Arthur actually answered. "~~Handwavey~~," he said, with import.

He enunciated every number very carefully.

There was a short pause. "That's another number, I take it," Arthur said, carefully.

"If you can stand still for a moment, Zack..."

One day, he probably would try to break Zack's spirit yet.
