"Today," Arthur called, once enough had gathered on the field, "We have two matters to discuss with you before we continue to the work of the day. First of all, all of you who have 'phone numbers', please exchange them with us and your fellow reserve members. This will help communication come the next attack. Also, you may have noticed the magic and support reserves that are currently being set up on the island; if you have any skills to lend there as well, I'd like you to show up. We can use everyone we've got." That over with, he rolled his shoulders, and nodded at the modded, oh so modded puppy up front. And then at Leto. "Second of all..."

Leto glanced at him, and then turned to the group. "We have decided to have Zack join us as leader for the reserve. His military experience will certainly be useful, and with the three of us to organise you will get a quicker response to any questions you might have." Also, Zack was cheerful. That could be an advantage, at least during planning meetings with Arthur.
 

As long as Zack didn't try hugging him in front of Leto, all should be fine. Arthur scraped his throat. "Now that that's over and done with, today is about learning what you're dealing with. I want you all to pick a partner who uses a weapon you have no proficiency in. Today, and over the course of the week, the two of you should learn as much as you can about the weapon, and the strategies that can be used with it."

"And as usual, if you have any questions or anything you want to discuss, don't hesitate to talk to us," Leto added.
 

"That will be all," Arthur finished, and nodded. "Get to it!"

As far as Tahiri was concerned, Zack getting that third leader spot could only be a good thing; the cheerfulness was definitely welcome.

She was still in a good mood after flight class. She'd been in a pretty consistent good mood for a while now, actually; this could last as long as it wanted to mwahaha.

Gabrielle was a little late, having gotten caught up in soliloquizing to a tree on the edge of the preserve, but got there just in time to catch the bit about lending skills to the support reserve, which made her brighten. Yay, being more useful!

Morgana knew better than to try to participate in any of the weapon work while Arthur was around, but she didn't think he could complain about her being here in general and merely observing.

...of course, that didn't mean there wasn't a chance he'd complain anyway, but she felt that she had the high ground in this instance.

Zack did some grinning, and Zack did some bouncing, but more importantly, Zack pulled out his phone and held it up so that people could see that yes, his was totally there, too, and he'd be happy to exchange numbers with anyone who had numbers to exchange!

Dinah found all the phone-exchanging kind of funny to watch, but she was there and ready to get the numbers she didn't already have... which was really not all that many.

Elspeth did not have one of these Farspeaking devices, but she decided she would have to get one. This afternoon she had a notebook and pen with her to take down phone numbers.

Gabrielle's player couldn't resist the crack any longer didn't have a phone, whatever that was, and had no idea what the big deal was about them. She and Xena always did just fine yelling each other's names repeatedly, anyway.

Besides, how could those tiny little things people were holding amplify your voice the way that loud speaking trumpet thing of Mael's could?
