3rd Floor Common Room: Saturday early evening [6-6-09]

Peyton had tried to report for detention today, but no one else had shown up. Which seemed to be on par with the way the rest of her week had been.

Solitary, um... activities in her room hadn't helped much, so she'd headed to the common room, sprawled out on the couch in something a little more exposed than she might ordinarily wear, ordered more pizza than she could ever eat when she couldn't decide on what she wanted, and was flipping through channels on the TV.

Funny how everything made her think of sex.

"God, yes," Peyton said. "It's making me nuts!"

"I'm glad to hear it's not just me," Jennifer said. "Though that doesn't do too much good."

"Not much at all, no," Peyton said with feeling.

"Hopefully pizza will solve things," she said, knowing it wouldn't.

"It is definitely making me less hungry for pizza," Peyton allowed, "but that's abou all I can say for it at the moment."

Jennifer sat back down and sighed. "At least the boys here are cute."

"I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing," Peyton admitted. "If they were all ugly it might be easier to resist."

"Well, I mean, I don't know," Jennifer said. "I've never really... so, I guess it's easier for me, because I don't want to be a floozy, you know?"

"Great. Now I'm a floozy," Peyton said with a sigh. "Thanks, Jennifer."

"Oh, no, I didn't mean it like that," Jennifer said. "I'm just new, you know? I wouldn't want people to first hear about me because I... slept with someone's boyfriend or something."

"Yeah, no, I'm sorry," Peyton apologized. "I hear you. I'm just... on edge. Maybe it's harder because I do know just what I'm missing."

"I guess with the radio, it's hard to do things secretly," Jennifer said.

"Yeah, tell me about it," Peyton said drily. "Damn squirrels see everything."

"Are there really squirrels?" Jennifer said. "That doesn't seem possible."

"There really are squirrels," Peyton assured her. "Ask anyone who's ever done the news."

"Probably explains how they find out everything," Peyton said grumpily.

"Yeah. Which isn't to say the truth doesn't get bent a little," Peyton warned.

Yeah, she was still a little pissed about them saying she'd offered to have sex with Chuck Bass.

"Oh, well, that's just radio," Jennifer said. "They want listeners."

Peyton nodded thoughtfully. "Could be. I hadn't thought of it that way."

"I mean, unless you think you can build a slander case," Jennifer said.

Peyton laughed. "Sue the squirrels? Yeah, I bet you'd have a tough time finding a lawyer to take that on!"

"Well, I work for the lawyer in town," Jennifer said. "You could ask her."

"Nah, thanks, though," Peyton said. "I took the easier way. Smashed my radio the other night."
