3rd Floor Common Room: Saturday early evening [6-6-09]

Peyton had tried to report for detention today, but no one else had shown up. Which seemed to be on par with the way the rest of her week had been.

Solitary, um... activities in her room hadn't helped much, so she'd headed to the common room, sprawled out on the couch in something a little more exposed than she might ordinarily wear, ordered more pizza than she could ever eat when she couldn't decide on what she wanted, and was flipping through channels on the TV.

Funny how everything made her think of sex.

Another hot guy. At least he was one who didn't belong to one of her best friends. "Come on in," Peyton offered. "Have some pizza."

Make out with me. God, hopefully she hadn't said that out loud. She didn't think she had, but hell she was losing it.

"Thanks, Peyton," Zayne said. He grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge before heading towards the pizza. "You know, we don't actually have pizza in my galaxy. I wonder if I could convince someone to bring a franchise out there."

"Oh... yeah?" she said, still, yes, watching his ass.

"Is everything okay?" Zayne asked. "You seem kind of distracted."

"Dis -? Uh... yeah, you could say that," she said, struggling to get her hormones under control. "Whole damn week has been a struggle."

"You're telling me. Part of using the Force means that when everyone's... like they are right now, I have to deal with trying not to read all of those emotions," Zayne said as he continued to do his best to filter out the emotions of everyone in the room. "It's like some kind of personal Trial we have to go through at this school."

"You mean, you can just... Not Feel any of this?" Peyton asked. "I may have to hate you a little bit if that's true."

"Oh, no, I feel it. And I kind of feel what everyone else is feeling, too," Zayne said. "The goal is to not let those feelings get to me. And that's not easy when you're in a building filled with bunch of people who are trying to act on it."

"Yeah?" she said. "I'm more looking for a way to act on it."

"Oh," Zayne said. "You're very direct about that." Even more direct than Claudia had been, actually, but wearing more clothes. That was fortunate. "Directness is good! It'll help you get what you want in life." He hadn't quite worked up to a babble, but he was on the path to one.

"Yeah? Hasn't worked too well for me so far," she admitted. "Unless you're offering...?"

She knew he wasn't, but couldn't help teasing.

"Sorry. I really shouldn't," Zayne said. "If you need any other kind of help, though, helping people is a Jedi thing, too."

"Find me a guy who could?" she joked.

"With my luck this week, he'd probably end up thinking he was a woman, strip down, and offer himself to me," Zayne said. Sadly, he wasn't joking.

Peyton laughed. "Sounds like your week has been as bad as mine!"

Zayne's week was kind of coming from the other direction, but the end result was similar. Ah, Jedi. "It's been an interesting few days, I'll definitely say that. I guess you can rest assured that at least you're not the only one with some frustration this week."

"Not sure that helps any," she said with a laugh, "but yeah. We all seem to be in this together."

"It means you have something of a support group if nothing else," Zayne said. "It's not the kind of support you're looking for, but you have to make due with what the Force gives you."

"I suppose," Peyton said. "I think I'm going with pizza, bad TV, and wishing at the moment, though."

"It's a good combination. It'll help keep your hopes up and then when the time comes, you'll be ready to..." Zayne paused. "Actually, I don't know if a Jedi has ever given a pep talk for sex, and I'm not sure I want to be the first. But you know what I was going for. Stay optimistic."

"Um... it's... it's not like I've never had sex before," she admitted.

"Um. Well, that's not really what I was getting at, but at least you know that it'll be worth the wait, whenever you find a guy," Zayne said. As if he knew what he was talking about at all. Zayne was quickly realizing that he wasn't great at talking about sex.

"Uh... yeah. Well... thanks."

"You're welcome," Zayne said. "Can you tell that I don't usually have conversations like this? It doesn't really come up to often in my class back home."

"Believe it or not, it's not all that high on my list either," Peyton admitted.
