3rd Floor Common Room: Saturday early evening [6-6-09]

Peyton had tried to report for detention today, but no one else had shown up. Which seemed to be on par with the way the rest of her week had been.

Solitary, um... activities in her room hadn't helped much, so she'd headed to the common room, sprawled out on the couch in something a little more exposed than she might ordinarily wear, ordered more pizza than she could ever eat when she couldn't decide on what she wanted, and was flipping through channels on the TV.

Funny how everything made her think of sex.

[Open with pizza!]

"Plenty of story in there," she argued with a faint smirk, "especially considering the fate of the first town that was supposed to have sold such food."

The discussion they'd had with their father, on 'pizza orgies' and the eruption of Vesuvius, well, it'd been odd of course, but it had also been sort of fun. It made her miss Eliot and Louis both, not that she let it show.

"But there are better things to talk about."

If she was willing to give a history of pizza, Esme wasn't sure she wanted to know what else she thought was riveting conversation. If she were to look wary, she would here. "Such as?"

"That depends on you. Anything but myths and religion and I should be able to give as good as I get," she mused before giving a quick yawn.

"Fine then. Tell me about the hedgehog song."

It was very much a test. Learning was one thing; Esme wanted to learn, but she didn't much like know-it-alls, and she was trying to confirm that this one wasn't.

Fiona laughed.

"Okay, music too. What's the hedgehog song? Can you tell me about it?"

Since the girl had to know enough to have asked about it.

"Not on purpose. I can't stand that bloody song. I was just wonderin' if you knew."

She shook her head.

"Nope. I could tell you about hedgehogs, but I definitely haven't heard of that kind of song."
