3rd Floor Common Room: Saturday early evening [6-6-09]

Peyton had tried to report for detention today, but no one else had shown up. Which seemed to be on par with the way the rest of her week had been.

Solitary, um... activities in her room hadn't helped much, so she'd headed to the common room, sprawled out on the couch in something a little more exposed than she might ordinarily wear, ordered more pizza than she could ever eat when she couldn't decide on what she wanted, and was flipping through channels on the TV.

Funny how everything made her think of sex.

[Open with pizza!]

She winced. The thought of being bombarded with so much emotion was a little terrifying to her, though not as bad as some other things people had mentioned so offhandedly.

"Hopefully, this will all end soon. Or we figure out what it is and slice it up."

"It's probably not anything along those lines," Zayne said. "These things just happen sometime. A few months back there was a stretch where nobody could actually, you know, do anything along these lines at all. That was almost as bad."

"Almost as bad?"

She couldn't see how that would be almost as bad. After all, she'd survived 15 years without that. It wasn't that big of a deal.

"There were a lot of feelings of frustration to try to block from my mind that week," Zayne said. "It was a lot of fun."

Zayne wasn't sure if Fiona could catch sarcasm. He'd know soon enough based on her reaction to that last sentence.

She could catch sarcasm. It was one of many languages she knew very well.

"Oh yes, I'm sure," she replied with a wry grin.

"Did you head off island or just try and drown yourself at the beach?"

"I toughed it out and survived," Zayne said. "I'm not nearly as sensitive as some of the other people here, and if they could deal with it, I figured I had to be able to."
