All things considered, not much had gotten done last Wednesday. Everyone seemed to have a lot of other things on their mind and Fraser couldn't necessarily fault them since he'd been thinking the same thing. The framing of the sixth floor had gotten somewhere thanks in part to an NPC staff of workers who seemed to have dealt with hormones quite well.

"Good morning," Fraser said, nodding. "I hope we are all feeling a bit...better. We're going to continue the work on the walls since we lost a few days to things." Things, yes. "NPC construction has started things out so you'll just be helping with what's been set up and what needs to be set up. This definitely requires a hard hat and a tool belt. Safety first."

Fraser hoped they took that into account last week too.

"Please get to work," he said, gesturing to the walls. "Thank you."

It's Monday, it's morning, and there are walls that need to be installed.

Peter got to work. He wore the hat mostly to prevent arguments about wearing one.

Johnny donned a hard hat and strapped on a tool belt; though his mind was preoccupied, he worked hard in helping to get the walls up.

It's time for foooooood. Eat up and take a rest!

This week, Sam had remembered to bring donuts with the sandwiches for himself and Peter, and he sat down to wait for Peter to be finished for the morning.

Peter smiled and came over when he saw Sam. "Hey."

"Hey, how's it going?" Sam asked. "Have you been keeping busy?"

"Usual," Peter said, as he brushed some dust off of his arms. "Played a few rounds of Solitaire. Nothing much."

"Hey, that's not fair," Sam said with a laugh. "You're supposed to be doing hard labor here."

"The cards are really heavy," Peter replied.

"And trying to remember what order they go in makes you have to think hard, right?" Sam teased, offering Peter the donuts first because he was really nice.

"It's like homework," Peter agreed. He took a donut, giving Sam an appreciative grin as he took a bite.

Sam grinned as well before offering Peter a sandwich and a soda. "That sounds horrible. You know how much I hate homework," he said innocently.

"I know. You'd die if you were stuck in that situation," Peter teased.

"All that thinking and calculating - I'd never survive," Sam said, managing to not laugh too hard. "Someone who's managed to work that hard probably deserves a reward, don't you think?"

"I don't wanna brag..." Peter said, though he bumped his hip against Sam's.

"You can always brag to me. It's totally part of the boyfriend job description," Sam said solemnly.

"Which is part of what makes you an amazing boyfriend," Peter said.

"While you're just amazing," Sam said, giving Peter a kiss on the cheek. "You'd think I'd be tired of being around you after the last few days, but I'm really not."

"Me neither," Peter agreed. He went to kiss Sam on the lips.

Sam kissed Peter back, and smiled. "Mmmm, donuts make you taste sweet," he said quietly.

"Maybe I should eat them all the time," Peter whispered back.

"You'd have to stay pretty active in return," Sam said, managing a straight face.

"Find a way to burn off calories you mean?" Peter asked.

Sam nodded. "I'm thinking...lots of walks with Scout."

"I do like dogs," Peter said, as though Sam had a good point.

"And, you know, there might be other ways too. More fun ways, although I can't quite think of any at the moment," Sam teased.

"Swimming?" Peter suggested.

Sam grinned as he let himself get that mental picture. "That's a good one too."

"You could join me if you wanted," Peter said. "Swimming is supposed to be both healthy and fun."

"I'd love to join you," Sam said. "This is the perfect weather for it."

"Are you sure?" Peter asked. "I mean I don't want to tear you away from something important."

"You're important," Sam said simply. "More important than pretty much anything."

"This is part of why you're the best boyfriend," Peter told him, then leaned in for a kiss.

Sam grinned, feeling especially pleased as he kissed Peter back.

Day's almost over but there's still work that needs to be done.

Enjoy the construction workers from a safe, roped off area.
