Behind the Dorms, Tuesday Afternoon
"Okay!" Zack grinned as he bounced to the forefront of today's reserves meeting, more than happy to be able to take the reins today.
It meant that he got to be all responsible, or something. He was game for the challenge!
"Today we're going to focus on familiarizing ourselves with weapons that we might have never considered using! Because, let's face it, sometimes the unspeakable happens and we get caught in a jam without anything readily at our disposal but what we can grab from nearby. Either someone else is down for the count and you make do with their weapon, or you end up swinging around whatever you can reach. Being able to improvise is just as important as being a master of your weapon of choice."
"A broomstick can be a staff," said Arthur, who had no experience with that kind of thing. At all. Really. "Any sharp object can be thrown. Anything with an edge can be used as a dagger or a sword, provided you know how to use one, and where to look. I assume you all have eyes."
"And that's why our pile-o-stuff today is more than just the practise weapons we've been using," Zack agreed, putting his hands on his hips and grinning at the people gathered. "If you look close enough, you'll be able to find pretty much anything from bags of marbles to the kitchen sink. Grab something you'd never think of using otherwise, pair up, and put those weapons to use!"
Zack, of course, was making a grab for that random beach umbrella, there.
Arthur, meanwhile, was going for the broom. For no reason. Really.
[Please wait for the OCD! OCD is up! This reserves meeting is officially in-session!]

Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"Remind me to let you listen to Eliot's music," she said.
"That's magic. But thank you all the same."

"I didn't remember," she admitted. "There were more important things."
Then she glanced at the pile, picking up a toaster.
"What shall we do with this one?"
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"Should we turn it into bits of metal to throw? Like stars?"
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"Perhaps I should mention this to Arthur or Zack?" she said thoughtfully, "since it might be useful.

She pursed her lips thoughtfully.
"I could probably think of a few others, really. And, of course, the part about the threads..."
She shook her head.
"I'll worry about it later."

"Mostly I've read," she admitted with a brief shrug, "and done a bit of shopping. Figured out a few more things I can do with the laptop."
Fiona breathed in and out.
"Not much else. What about you? What've you been up to for fun?"
The question was perfectly innocent, but she was looking at him curiously.
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"Um. You wanna get out, do something fun sometime?"
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"I'd love to."
That was so much better than talking about stupid girls who said stupid things. Maybe she'd ask him later but she was much happier to spend time with him than concern herself with that.
"What were you thinking of?"
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"And what were you thinking about? You'd know crazy better than I would. I think the wildest thing I've done since I got here was get drunk with Karla and have a pillow fight."
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
"It didn't last that long."
Because Karla had fallen off the bed and she wasn't about to say since she vaguely recalled promising not to say anything to anyone about it.

"Oh, don't even get me started on him," she said with a shake of her head.
