Magical Reserve - Preserve Next to the Cabins, Wednesday

"Hey!" Tony said, once people had gathered. "Today we're working on shields again, but this time we're going to play British Bulldogs with magic." He pointed to a couple of people. "You and you. You guys are the bulldogs. Your job is to catch everyone else. If you touch them - skin or clothes - then they're a bulldog, too, and have to go after the others. Everyone else, your job is to not get touched."

Tony pointed to bright yellow crime scene ribbons tied to trees around the edge of the clearing. "That's the boundaries. If you go outside the boundaries, you automatically become a bulldog. Today we're only doing shields, so you can use shields and you can attack shields but no other kind of magic. Ready?"

After any questions had been answered, Tony pointed to one of the bulldogs. "Count to ten, slowly. When you get to ten, the game's on. Start now."

"Yes, but do you really want anyone to say 'And Karla and Merlin went off and bribed the squirrels to leave them alone for hours. We have no idea what they were doing, but we're going to assume it's dirty because we're radio announcers and that's what we do'?" Karla pointed out.

As long as it wasn't on a Saturday, they should avoid most innuendo. Hopefully. Not on a Sunday either. Damn Emmett.

"Because 'Karla and Merlin paid the squirrels to say they were studying while they went off and who knows what happened' is better? Are you trying to get me killed?" Karla peered suspiciously at Merlin. "Oh, I get it. You get me to teach you everything I know and then have me killed so you can be the undisputed master of the Healing webs. Ha! I'm on to you and your tricksy plan, sir."

Funny how much easier it was to joke about people trying to assassinate you for your power when you were a world or so away from the people trying to do just that.
