"Today, our strategies will be focused on subterfuge," Arthur called, as soon as everyone had gathered. "There may be times when we are best served by creating an ambush. Today, we'll be taking our first steps to put one of those together. For the sake of ease, we will be focusing on the preserve."

He nodded at the treeline none too far away from them. "I want half of you to go into the woods and find good locations to hide. The treetops, for those of you thusly inclined, and holes, bushes and the like for those of you who aren't. The rest of you will go in after them to find their hiding places before they can ambush you. Both of these skills will be necessary. With any luck, we can graduate to the town next time."

"Those of you who wish to discuss last week's escape routes can come to Leto, Zack or myself, and we'll share your findings next week. Likewise for those of you in need of combat training. You know where we are."

He crossed his arms. "Well, what are you waiting for?"

"I know what a chameleon is." Leto grinned. "I just thought that changing colour to blend into the world around him wasn't really something Priestly usually did."

Dinah rolled her eyes. "Well, his colors are a little more spectacular than the norm. Bright blue and red and pink and ... anyway, yeah. Claudia and I are kind of splitting looking after him. Who took care of you?"

"I woke up with Alice, but she has a cat," Leto replied. "I stayed in my room, and Arthur was kind enough to help."

"Dinah-the-cat," Dinah-the-girl said, smiling. And... for once, that really didn't matter to her, where he woke up.

Hunh. Yay?

"And I'm now imagining Arthur feeding you cheese and bitching that you couldn't be something with opposable thumbs."

"Clearly you know him well," was all Leto said. There was no need for a more detailed confirmation, after all.

Dinah snickered. "Ahem. Anyway. Sorry you had to go through that." She looked over at Merlin and looked wistful. "I keep hoping to be turned into a kitten before the island turns me into a statue or a newt or something."

Leto followed her gaze, but turned back quickly to Dinah. "Oh?"

"Well, half the people I know have turned into something now! You, Jill, Francine, Arthur, Merlin, Priestly," Dinah listed them off. "But no, Merlin won't turn me into a kitten when I ask. Is that fair?" She grinned. "If I turn into a canary though, I'm hiding from Arthur so he can't mock me."

"You're asking Merlin to turn you into an animal?" There was a slight frown, and Leto shot another glance at Merlin.

"Yes, but he wouldn't." Dinah made a face. "And Tony probably won't either. No fair. I want to play with Camille." She was only half-joking on it. Because it would be cool. "As a kitten, I mean. Maybe he's worried he couldn't turn me back, though."

"At least they have some sense," Leto muttered under his breath. "Be careful for what you ask for."

"Didn't you enjoy being a mouse? Or a lion? I'm not going to guess about the tree," Dinah said. "I'd just like to *pick* what the Island does to me."
