The Valley Campfire: Monday Afternoon

Anyone coming across the campfire today would find Layla sprawled out on a blanket as she traced a convuluted route on a map of the Northeastern part of the United States. She was lying on her stomach with her feet up in the air as she munched on a snack of raisins and goldfish crackers

And while a fire wasn't lit in the firepit, there was a cooler of drinks and some goodies from J'GOB sitting on top of them for visitors to enjoy.

"I didn't sing either," Layla smirked. "Though I was prepared with duct tape. I did however turn into a set of books. That wasn't too bad."

"Books?" Firekeeper frowned, because that just seemed strange. "Sorcery? Or..." she waved a hand in the air in a gesture that apparently meant to encapsulate 'Fandom Weirdness'.

"Weirdness," Layla replied with a nod. "I was a set of encyclopedias for a few days. It was just my time."

"I hope no such things happen to me," Firekeeper had to admit. "I turn into small child once. This was bad enough."

"Aww, I bet you were cute," Layla smirked. "Did your wolf turn into a cub?"

"Not my wolf," Firekeeper corrected. "He is none but his own. And he were puppy, yes."

"Sorry, I just assumed he was yours," Layla said looking at him thoughtfully. "What is he exactly? Is he just a wolf or..."

Layla frowned. When it came to people she didn't know about right off the bat it made things difficult for her.

"Not just wolf. Or not wolf as you would know them," Firekeeper shook her head. "Blind Seer is Royal Wolf. These is stronger, faster, smarter than ones most humans is familiar with," she explained.

"So... he's like a prince?" Layla asked haltingly.

"No," Firekeeper shook her head. She should've known her incompleteness grasp of human language would cause a problem sooner or later. "First time I try to explain what kind wolf he is, I not know too many human words. But royal I thinked meant better, so I use," she said with a shrug.

"Ohhhh. So basically he's a special kind of wolf that chooses his own kind of company?" Layla guessed.

"Is good way to put it," Firekeeper said with a small smile. "We is only wolves from our pack to ever run with humans."

"So... are you saying you're a wolf?" Layla asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Am," Firekeeper confirmed with a nod. "In heart, though not shape."

"So you're not a wolf transformed into a girl," Layla reasoned. "Right? Sorry, I know that sounds like a dumb question."

"Right," Firekeeper nodded. "Just wolf who is also girl. And is not dumb question! Wolves who was borned human is not a usual thing."

"Good, point," Layla said with a nod. "Before I was remade I had horns and breathed fire. So were both your parents wolves?"
