Wendy the Werewolf Stalker Campfire [Wednesday Evening]

It was beautiful outside this evening, and so Emma found herself out by her cabin's campfire; cigarette in one hand as she balanced her notebook on her knees. It was easier to work on her creative writing assignment out here than in the cramped quarters of the cabin, and if she didn't like what she wrote, well, she could always burn it.

And really, there was no downside to lighting things on fire.

She had noticed the chagrin, yes, and Emma responded with a wave of amusement.

"Not at all, darling. Suit yourself," she replied with a wave of her hand. Emma had a decent suspicion she knew why Karla wanted another slumber party, but talking about it aloud would be tacky. "For you, anything."

[Crashing, SP?]

"You just want there to be a party," Karla teased. "One with decent booze. If it's in your cabin, where you don't have to move, all the better. I'm on to you, Emma Frost."

[Of course!]

"Shush, darling," Emma scolded. "You're going to ruin my devious plan, and then where will I be? Party-less, that's where, with cheap alcohol and no pretty people to admire."

"Oh, like I'd ever subject you to that," Karla said with a laugh. "At the very least, I'd give you a bottle of wine. How go classes this time around?"

"Etiquette continues to be useless, but I like my other three. My film studies class continues to be the best of the lot," she replied. "I get to curl up on a couch and watch some of the gems of motion picture history."

"It doesn't hurt, of course, that Mitchell is brilliant and easy on the eyes." Shallow, Emma. That's your teacher.

"I wish I were in that class then," Karla said. For one thing, she really needed to learn more about the cinema. For another, if both Emma and Dinah were calling Mitchell good-looking, Karla wouldn't mind checking him out for herself.

"Most of mine are good, but one 'Surviving Deep Space' is awful. I don't know how I ended up there and the teacher makes me want to seal his mouth with Craft."

"I get an hour to discreetly admire my professor, and blatantly pester Jack," Emma laughed, eyes flicking quickly to the boy where he was chatting with Valentine.

"And what about you? What mischief have you been up to while I've been in seclusion?"

"Well, I took a quick jaunt into outer space," Karla said, grinning like an idiot. "It was amazing. I'm going to have to come up with a way to thank Ben and Ender for that."

"Really, darling, it can't be that hard to thank a pair of boys," Emma answered impishly. "Just get them pizza. Or something."

"Emma, we flew through the solar system," Karla laughed. "They brought me close so I could see all of Saturn's rings. I think that deserves more than a pizza for a thank you."

Maybe a pizza and a cheesecake?

That was why she'd said 'or something', but Emma just laughed.

"Ice cream, then," she suggested. "I've heard a shocking rumor that teen boys think with their taste buds. I'm sure if you keep feeding them, they'll adore you forever."

"Funny," Karla said with a grin, "I've always heard that teenage boys think with something else entirely."

She was innocent, not stupid.

"Though as long as I can keep feeding them food I didn't have to make myself, it should be all good."

Emma tsked at her. "Don't be vulgar, darling," she scolded, even if that was what she'd been referring to earlier. "Would I ever suggest something like that?"

Karla just raised a brow. "Yes!" she answered. "Or wait--do you mean out loud?"

"Karla!" Emma put a hand to her heart, pretending to be shocked. "I will have you know that I am the very model of ladylike behavior."

< When I am in public, at least. Usually. The art of the innuendo is a wonderful thing... >

Karla just snickered. "I would love to introduce your definition of ladylike to my mother's Steward," she said with a shake of her head. "I'm sure he would find it enlightening."

*I'm still learning the basics of innuendo. Haven't had the chance to turn it to an art form yet.*

"You'd be shocked just how proper I can be," Emma laughed. "I was being groomed as one of my father's heirs. I can dance a waltz, have excellent table manners, and make small talk with people who bore me for hours. I just don't use it here that often."

"I should take you to a party on the mainland, sometime," she continued, looking thoughtful. "I'm always going off to crash one high-class event or another, just for the fun of sneaking in." Also to steal insider company information and use it to pad her own stock portfolio, but that wasn't relevant right now.

< Besides, parties are the best place to practice your flirting and innuendo. There's quite a few dirty old men at fancy galas who will think the lewdest things, and it can be quite fun driving them insane. >

"Not really. I know how proper I can be when I have to," Karla pointed out, amused.

"Though I'd probably need a better reason to sneak into a boring and stuffy old party besides to find out if I can."

*And also beyond the opportunity to flirt with grabby old males,* she sent dryly.

< Not to flirt, dearest, > Emma sent, amused. < Plant subliminal commands to hiccup uncontrollably every time they oggle a girl under the age of eighteen. Make them think the champagne flute is a snake. Hell, convince them to go home with another one of the grabby old men, and watch the scandal erupt. All while keeping your poker face on, and playing nice with someone who's not completely annoying. >

Well that put a different complexion on things, didn't it.

*Emma, I like the way you party,* Karla sent back with savage amusement. *...But why would sleeping with another male cause a scandal?* Karla still wasn't clear on the morality of this world that actually made sense. She had no time for the stuff that was utter nonsense.

*Did I mention the possible boxer-raid at the party tomorrow?*

< Because dirty old men don't usually sleep with other dirty old men, they prey on pretty little things like us, male or female > Emma responded, amused. < And they're Very Important Men, and either married to a Very Important Woman or some trophy wife, and just going off with another married man simply Isn't Done in public. It's a matter of manners. >

< And no, you did not. > Her eyes danced with amusement. < Do we have any targets in particular? > she asked, tapping her fingers as she considered the possibilities. although sadly her player has a gala to work tonight, and may be serious serious SP/delayed arrival

*Not yet,* Karla said. *Though I'm certain I can ask you for a few names.* She paused for a second. *Did I say tomorrow? my mun failed at remembering this was yesterday I meant Friday. Turtle's got radio Friday night and can conveniently not read anything incriminating.*
