Rumor Gal Campfire; Thursday Evening

While he was getting pretty damn tired of the whole cabin thing, Chuck would have been stupid not to take advantage of an already lit fire and the new bag of marshmallows he found in the kitchen. He wasn't quite sure who kept buying the marshmallows but Zefron bless them.

Joint in his left hand, Chuck tried his hand at trying to flick marshmallows in the air with his right and catching them in his mouth. Turns out he had a talent for it.

[Mmm my hangover is finally subsiding. Ooooopen, of course]

"At least not until it fails you."

"I'm not happy about what happened," Edmund said evenly, thinking his words over carefully. "But being mad at you seems to do me little good. Had anyone been hurt though," he added a little more seriously, "we'd be having a very different conversation." He could forgive, but not forget, and he was going to bide his time and trust that a situation would present itself where he could teach Chuck a lesson in a way that didn't involve fists. "That said, don't drug me again." There was a finality in his tone on the last note.

Sometimes the King won out over the teenage boy.

"There may be hope for you yet," he replied with the smallest of smiles. Did Edmund Pevensie actually show he had a sense of humour? Say it isn't so. "But I won't get my hopes up too high."

He considered adding something to that, then thought better of it. "Can I have a marshmallow?"

"Thanks," he replied, catching the bag and fishing out a few. He tossed the bag back. "Is there a trick to tossing them up and catching them in your mouth or lots of practice?"

"It does take a certain talent to survive despite some of the words that come out of it," Ed replied.
