Around the Cabins, Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate Friday Night

The cabins were mostly quiet. It was incredibly late Friday night--technically very early Saturday morning--and by this time, both the most of the righteous and unrighteous had finally found their beds--well, theirs or someone else's.

There was one major exception to this: a group of girls sneaking out of the Wendy the Werewolf Stalker cabin, preparing to go forth and steal boxers. For great justice, and even greater hilarity.

Eeee! Dinah jumped, but kept the giggle internal, and carefully found a pair and flooooated them toward the door of the cubicle. Hopefully that wouldn't wake the sleeping occupant?

Karla grabbed them from the air and shoved them into the sack. It eas getting harder to control the giggles, though. "This is what male underwear looks like?" she hissed.

"Sometimes?" Dinah whispered back. She hadn't gotten a really good look at them before they were in the bag, but most guy's underwear was pretty basic, right? "Bet Chuck's is silk, though."

"Like he'd have anything but," Karla scoffed. "I've seen a few others with fun designs on them and stuff. Which is just wierd."

"I have some with... oh. Um. Sure. Weird." Dinah tried to look like she hadn't started admitting that. "But funny!" she whispered.

Karla gave Dinah a merry glance. "Is this some cultural thing I'm missing? Perhaps my undergarment collection will have to be expanded to include odd designs on them."

"Probably?" Dinah admitted, smirking a little. "Maybe just how easy it is to make designs here." She snickered. "You should see some of the ones in 'Dite's shop."

"'Dite's shop?" Karla asked, confused. The radio said it was a sex shop, which meant it sold sex, with meant it was a Red Moon House, right? "You were there? And saw undergarments?"

Maybe the whores walked around only partially clothed? A little tacky, but if it worked, who was she to criticize the madam?

"Uh-hunh!" Dinah was proud of herself for having walked in, and for having gone back. Ha! "I bought a really pretty nightgown and bathrobe from her. There was other stuff there, but. Um. I didn't need that." Not even the books, since she had The Book, and it was still under her bed in her room now. Along with the condoms that didn't get all handed over to Francine.

"Dinah, don't you think that's a little--" distasteful? Unhygenic? Squick-worthy? "--unwise?"

There was probably a second-hand market for the used garments of whores, but Karla doubted Dinah needed to shop there. Plus, it just didn't seem like the kind of thing Dinah would do. Hell's fire, she blushed whenever Karla mentioned the words Virgin Night.

"What?" Dinah asked, totally clueless as to why Karla was making that face. She was the one always being matter-of-fact about sex when it didn't have to do with feelings. "I just walked in to see what it was-- I thought it was a candy shop-- but 'Dite was really nice. It wasn't skeezy at all. I didn't look at the books or the, um. Toys. Not really. I should take you by there, you'll see!"

"It's got books and toys, too?" Karla asked, now completely confused. Her education, thorough as it was, hadn't come with an explanation about sex toys are sex manuals. "Romance novels to get the mood going, I could maybe see, but toys? Or do you mean games to keep the patrons entertained while they wait?"

"No, you know." Dinah paused. "Wait, maybe you don't. Um. Books on.. how?" She cocked her head. "I did see a few board games, but those looked more for couples." She frowned. "Wait for what?" 'Dite to wait on them? That didn't make sense.

"The whores," Karla said, getting more confused with every word Dinah was saying. "Waiting for the whores. Isn't that place a Red Moon House? I mean, isn't that what selling sex is?"

Dinah's jaw dropped. For extra effect, her eyes bugged out.

"Noooooo." She thought about it, then gulped and said, "Well, yes. But not in this case!"

"Then what kind of shop is this?" Karla asked, getting a bit exasperated. Why was nothing in this world like it should be? "It's a sex shop. Candy shops sell candy. Same thing with book shops and clothing shops. So what makes this different?"

"...Glad to know you aren't buying second-hand whores' clothing though," she added after a moment of though.

Dinah spluttered as they exited the cabin, then whispered, "God no! No no no! It sells books and cards and sex toys and sexy clothing and porn! And sexy candies and such!" She took a breath. "It just all has to do with sex."

"What do toys have to do with sex?" Karla asked confused. She was picturing dolls and balls and swings, all of which could technically be found at the shop. "And what's porn?"

And why did there need to be so much stuff?

So as to better make Dinah blush about it? Possibly?

"Ummm." Dinah kept her voice down, and said softly, "Photos or movies of people naked and having sex, okay? Pornography. And books and magazines too, really." She took a breath. Opened her mouth. Then said, "We should just visit there, I'm not 'splaining the toys, 'kay? 'Dite can do that."

"You brought them up," Karla grumbled a little. "So when do you want to go?" she asked, perking up.

Hey! She was curious! She would probably bring a notebook.

"Umm..." Dinah paused a second, then suggested, "Well. Maybe Wednesday? After Reserves?"

It was sad she was picking a day with newscasters that wouldn't mock her and Karla too much, wasn't it?

Sad? We call that 'wise.'

"Sounds great!" Karla said, completely unaware of what she was in for. "And much more interesting than if it were just a Red Moon House. I've already seen one of those."

"You have? Oh, right. You told me you had." Dinah blinked, curiosity overcoming her, and she said, "I'm gonna have a lot of questions about that when we're not on a raid."

Karla snickered. "Feel free to ask," she said. "Though I can sum it up as: getting into mischief. Again."
