The Deck [Saturday Night]

It had been a weird day, between the guy at the diner freaking out and Dinah heading out of town. Claire decided to head out to the deck with a pitcher of iced tea and enjoy the evening.

She idly considered building a fire, but decided against it because of the heat.

"Nothing wrong with that," Claire said. "I went for a run this morning, but have been relaxing since then."

"Relaxing after a run seems like a good plan," Ellie said. "Maybe I should do the running thing sometime."

"I handwavily go just about every morning," Claire said. "You're welcome to join me."

"Maybe I will sometime," Ellie nodded. "Good way to get some exercise, at least."

"Yup. I also do fight club every Sunday," Claire said.

"Fight club?" Ellie repeated. "What's that like? Can't say I've ever attended."

"It's kind of intense," Claire admitted. "But I've been learning a lot about how to defend myself."

"Not a bad idea for this place," Ellie said thoughtfully. "Maybe that's something else I should be looking into. Fighting and defense training aren't exactly talents of mine."

"Can't hurt. Lady Ghanima is good with beginners," Claire said.

"See? I wouldn't even be thinking about these things if I didn't decide to come here," Ellie snickered.

"I know, right?" Ellie chuckled. "But seriously, it is good to be thinking about."
