The Deck [Saturday Night]

It had been a weird day, between the guy at the diner freaking out and Dinah heading out of town. Claire decided to head out to the deck with a pitcher of iced tea and enjoy the evening.

She idly considered building a fire, but decided against it because of the heat.

"It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't," Joolushko said. "But I would hope the faculty would be vetted somehow."

"Well, my teachers have all been really competent," Jennifer said

"Hope," Jennifer said. "There's always that." She smiled.

"Hope that next term I won't have any teachers trying to urge me into a life of crime," Joolushko said.

"Maybe they'll encourage actual artistry," Jennifer said.

Jennifer smiled. "So do you like it here, on the whole?" she asked.

"I wouldn't go that far," Joolushko said. "But it's all right. I suppose."
