First Floor Lobby: Friday Morning

To those transformed "girls" waking up this morning, Layla had arranged a special gift for them. In the first floor lobby (as well as in the common rooms) an arrangement of women's underwear and sports bras in various colors and sizes were laid out on display.

Along with a sign indicating that they were free to take for any male students who were temporarily transformed.

As for Layla herself she was sitting on one of the couches in the lobby to watch the parade of girls leaving the dorms as she perused her new copy of Tiger Beat.

Sometimes knowing "stuff" is helpful for everyone.

On 'his' way through the lobby to meet up with Max, Eric spotted the underwear.

Yeah, there was a quick dash into the bathroom before he came out again, much more comfortable.

There was no ignorance, there was knowledge. Zayne was sure of this. Somewhere there was someone who knew why he was a girl. Somewhere there was someone who knew how to make his... ahem, chest a little more stable. Fortunately he was covered up in his robes but, well, they fit differently than they did yesterday.

And then he spotted the underwear. The first thing would be easier to figure out if he could focus more by resolving the second thing.

And that's the story of how Zayne came to own a bra.

On his way down back to his room, Ender came by one of the common rooms. He made quick work of finding a bra - having come to the conclusion that he actually needed one, this time around - and some underwear, and continued on his merry way.

Spock grabbed the first bra that looked like it was remotely in his size and fled back to his room.

This was not logical.

Karla came in, took one look at the table, another at Layla, and one more at the table, then dissolved into giggles.

They might have been slightly hysterical giggles, true.

Males and females, she could handle. Males who slept with females, other males, or both were no problem. But males who suddenly turned into females? Dead wrong. It wasn't supposed to work this way.

GENDER IS IMMUTABLE DAMN IT ALL! IMMUTABLE!

Karla might need as much time to adjust to this as the males did.

"Good Morning, Karla," Layla said with a little smile. "Interesting day, huh?"

You are welcome my little female Jedi!

George glared at the 'supplies' and then marched up to Layla.

"Yer enjoyin' this, aren't ye, lass."

He was - not sure what he thought of it yet except that there was unnatural bouncing.

George was not looking at the tables of 'garments'. So wasn't.

Instead he was trying to figure out how to keep all that damn hair out of his eyes.

"Oh, believe me," Layla said turning a page of her magazine. "Sooner or later the tables will be turned and you can have a good laugh. I do have a present for you."

"Will ye be turnin' into a cute wee animal then?" He asked, arms crossed as he eyed her.

Not that she wasn't already both cute and wee.

Thanks to that midnight call from John, Jaina knew what was going on, and she had a couple hours till she had to catch her portal. It didn't prepare her for heading to the first floor on her way out and seeing her face on someone not Brooke.

This left her with an oh so eloquent "Um."

"No. Not any time soon, anyway," Layla snickered as he handed a matching bra and panty set. "I mean eventually I'll be a guy. Tables will be turned and all that."

Oh hey, there was a lot of flail all at once. (Don't bounce so much, George, it's unattractive.)

"I didna mean t'look like more of yer family, lass!" He protested.

He eyed the bra and panties warily, possibly afraid they'd bite.

"Bein' a boy is easier!" He pointed out.

Somewhere Alanna was facepalming.

"Uh-huh," Layla said trying not to laugh. "Well if that's the case I look forward to learning how you walk around with all that down there. Just go into the bathroom and put it on. You'll feel more comfortable."

"I don't care if you look like my family, you look like me!" Jaina said, and oh wow she had too many questions in her head now. Like would she look like Jacen as a boy, and if Jacen were a girl- Okay weird thoughts now.

Layla might be an occasionally insufferable lunatic, but Emma had a camera.

"I think, for today, I love you," she announced breezily, taking a seat next to Layla and snapping a picture of those currently selecting garments. "Although your fashion choices leave something to be desired."

"Oh, I'm so honored," Layla chuckled. "What does the love of the great Emma Frost get for me today?"

"Absolutely nothing," Emma admitted. "Prints of the photographs, should you so desire, but those won't be ready until tomorrow."

She planned on taking pictures all day. Emma might have perfect telepathic recall, but she was rather sure that whatever passed as a yearbook or newspaper around here did not.

"I woke up like this!" He squeaked. "Not on purpose!"
