Third Floor Common Room - LUAU

Joan and Kate had worked all afternoon to transform the common room into a tropical paradise.

Inside the door, a small table held flower leis for all of the party-goers. There were garlands hanging around the room, tabletop torches on most of the flat surfaces, and paper lanterns adding festive mood lighting.

Hawaiian music played in the background if anyone felt the urge to hula.

There was quite a lot of food, including kalua pig, lomi-lomi salmon, banana bread, guava cake, kulolo (Hawaiian pudding), fruit salad, and an assortment of fresh tropical fruit.

There were also Mai Tais and several different ~~moddable~~ tropical juices.

Shilo has a variety of lengths and sizes for you to pick from!

Make use of that grass skirt or the limbo stick.

Woo! Party is open to all, though it was advertised as being for the third floor residents. I am turning off comment notifications so poke me here or on AIM (evilenabler) if you need me.

Joan, of course, was there and ready to party.

Kate was there, which was hardly a surprise. She picked up a plateful of food, happy to be finally actually eating it.

Okay, the flowers were odd, but if it was some kind of cultural thing and he was told he was in the wrong for not wearing any, Arthur might consider putting them on.

And then mocking them to Merlin, later.

As it stood, though, there was a party. With food. A fact Arthur only found out about by strolling out of his room and past the common room.

He stuck around to snag some of that pork.

"Everything is so good!" Joan said.

"Hi!" Joan said. "You need a lei."

There really was no good way to word that, was there?

Shilo grabbed a glass of pineapple juice and some salmon, and then went back towards the table where she'd set up the grass skirts.

There was a slight pause at that, yes.

"And that would be?" he prompted.

"Everything is," Kate agreed, munching on a piece of the guava cake. "I'm so proud of this whole thing."

Joan had invited Raven to come to the party, so in an attempt to return to some normalcy, she went two floor down to visit.

Please excuse Kate, she's in a party mood. And smirking.

"What would it take to get you in a grass skirt, Arthur?" Which was kind of like saying 'hello' or 'welcome', except not.

"An army," Arthur returned, idly. "Perhaps two. And God, while you're at it. Hello, Kate."

Kate had of course snagged herself one of the skirts as soon as Shilo had brought them, but had then had to go off to set up some more food before getting a chance to chat with the other girl more.

She wandered over to the skirt table now. "Thanks so much for these, Shilo, they're awesome."

"Damn. All I have to offer for persuasion is my prettiest smile, 'cause I'm all out of gods and armies."

"A traditional Hawaiian necklace of flowers," Joan said, pointing to the one gracing her own neck.

"Raven! You made it!"

Joan was happy to see her friend. "Did you get a lei?"

"Good luck finding some," Arthur told her, dryly, if not entirely unkindly.

Sure, she was pretty, but that wasn't much for his mind these days.

"This is so awesome," Joan said, walking over to get a grass skirt. "Thank you for helping."

"Rachel, hi! Welcome to the luau," Kate smiled at her.

Blink. Blink. Stare.

"...no?" Raven said, not sure she understood.

"Hello, Kate," Raven said. "A luau is a party with a tropical theme, I have gathered?"

"Well, let's get you one," Joan said, grabbing her hand and tugging her over to the table of flowered necklaces. "See one you like?"

They were mostly the same, though with some difference in color.
