Third Floor Common Room - LUAU

Joan and Kate had worked all afternoon to transform the common room into a tropical paradise.

Inside the door, a small table held flower leis for all of the party-goers. There were garlands hanging around the room, tabletop torches on most of the flat surfaces, and paper lanterns adding festive mood lighting.

Hawaiian music played in the background if anyone felt the urge to hula.

There was quite a lot of food, including kalua pig, lomi-lomi salmon, banana bread, guava cake, kulolo (Hawaiian pudding), fruit salad, and an assortment of fresh tropical fruit.

There were also Mai Tais and several different moddable tropical juices.

Kate was there, which was hardly a surprise. She picked up a plateful of food, happy to be finally actually eating it.

Okay, the flowers were odd, but if it was some kind of cultural thing and he was told he was in the wrong for not wearing any, Arthur might consider putting them on.

And then mocking them to Merlin, later.

As it stood, though, there was a party. With food. A fact Arthur only found out about by strolling out of his room and past the common room.

He stuck around to snag some of that pork.

Shilo grabbed a glass of pineapple juice and some salmon, and then went back towards the table where she'd set up the grass skirts.

Joan had invited Raven to come to the party, so in an attempt to return to some normalcy, she went two floor down to visit.

Chloe did not do parties, ever. She wasn't very good at them and she had never been welcome in by the in-crowds at her old schools.

However, in her weekly phone call to Tori, when telling her about the events this weekend at the school, Tori had dared her to step into the room. She figured she could stop in, look around and then slip back to her room.

Easy, right? No embarrassment.

Ellie didn't live on the third floor, but she'd heard about the luau. So she was there, thinking this was another good way to socialize.

Like Francine would miss a) free food, or b) free food at a party thrown by her little sister. Please.

Yes, shut up, chocolate chip cookies were in no way Hawaiian food except for maybe the sugar cane used to make them, but she still slipped a plate of them onto the food table. Shhhhh.

Fiona was there, but she was sticking mostly to the couches and making sure she didn't open her mouth and make a fool of herself. Parties always did seem to throw her for a bit of a loop, really.

Sam had seen the signs for the party, and now that he was back to his normal self, he felt comfortable enough coming out of his room to see the turnout.

After the three minute dates at Caritas, this seemed like a good idea. Leto picked up some food and a drink and looked around the room for people to talk to.

Dinah got a plate of salmon and fruit, and settled down in a corner to watch people, especially the guys who were back to being guys.

Jennifer was really grateful for baggy sweats and baseball caps. She was trying not to stick out, all big and green...

Her father had called her, after she'd come home from the Three Minute Dates. He'd not been amused by her actions.

She had not been happy with what he said. And now that was pretty obvious to anyone at the luau, since... well, big, tall green girl.

Some time after leaving the bar, Zayne made his way up to the common room kinda late, ahem. He did tell one of the party organizers that he'd make an appearance, after all.

Kate had of course snagged herself one of the skirts as soon as Shilo had brought them, but had then had to go off to set up some more food before getting a chance to chat with the other girl more.

She wandered over to the skirt table now. "Thanks so much for these, Shilo, they're awesome."
