Outside the Dorms; Wednesday Afternoon [ After Workshops; 08/19 ].
This was it. While Turtle, who was never going to shake off how much she hated that she'd been accused of bombings she'd never done in the past, was not one to support the damage of public property, especially not so close to a very important election, she felt much more strongly about her hatred of gym class uniforms...and her annoyance with certain teachers' usage of them. She liked to think that many fellow students felt the same way, too, and it was a destructive position she felt her campaign would gladly suffer.
And being Mr. Dex's TA made getting the uniforms all the easier, too.
It would have been nicer to do this in the main campfire, but right outside the dorms would be a higher traffic spot. There, in a very contained and approved fire ring, was crackling the beginnings of a nice little bonfire, mingled with the smell of burning spandex/polyester blend, as Turtle fed more of the gym uniforms into the fire, smirking proudly.
It was almost tradition, really.
"Come on!" she called brightly to passersby, and might even toss a uniform or two their way. "Down with crappy gym uniforms! They severe our individuality and insult our sense of fashion! Burn 'em all!"
[ uniforms so burned with permission, and of course the post is open! ]

"Hello, Turtle." He approached her slowly. "Is this some kind of tradition that I've missed?"
[I'll be a little SP-ish, I'm afraid]

She held out a shirt. "By all means, the more, the merrier."
no subject
He could help, however. He accepted the shirt and threw it on the fire. At least Turtle seemed in a good mood doing this.

She threw her own armful in, smirking, before answering, "And I suppose it would be the context. I would be opposed to a uniform in general, but the fact that there's a uniform specifically for gym class is superfluous and a waste of time. Not to mention that they're ugly, and Mr. Dex seemed to think them necessary even for days of watching movies. So I burn them to make a statement that we should be allowed at the very least the comfort of our own gym clothes. Spandex/poly blend doesn't even breathe. It makes you extra sweaty and gross and the shorts ride up. I could go on..."

"Since I've all ready graduated, I'm thinking they can't throw me out for participating in this, right?" Adam half-joked as he made he way over.

She hoped. Then again, it was frightening to think that there might be even more hidden somewhere else.
no subject
"Let's hope he doesn't have a secret stash somewhere." That would be kind of funny and also, a little scary.

Yeah, he never would have done anything like this back at Angel Grove High. Then again, they didn't have quite the same gym uniforms as Fandom.

And, with that, she tossed them into the fire.

"Uhhh, no, that's okay," she said, patting her stomach. "I had a big lunch."
