The Deck | Cheerleaders End of Summer BBQ [Wednesday, Late Afternoon Onwards]

Well, they'd picked a good day for it, even if it was still sticky as anything out. For a party, it was worth putting up with a bit of humidity.

By late in the afternoon the cheerleaders had barbecues lit, all the traditional food was well on the way to being served and there were plenty of snacks and drinks around for anyone who didn't want to go for burgers and sausages.

As usual, there are lots of loungers around for anyone who wants to stretch out, blankets and cushions on the grass and picnic tables for anyone who would prefer a real table.

To add a little extra fun, there are several different lawn games for people to play if they wanted to.

Last chance to relax and party before the new students arrive. Might as well make the most of it.

[[And there will be OCD... Wiiiide open.]

"Angela!" Turtle waved, bouncing up to the known cheerleader with a grin. "This barbecue is a great idea! And you guys did a great job with it."

"Oh, definitely," Turtle said with a nod. "Very productive, but also just the sort of relaxation I think I needed, you know? I really feel ready and eager to get to the new school year; last one! And I've been here since my freshman year, so that's really saying a lot, I think. You excited about it?"

She had the list of the class of 2010 completely memorized, so she knew Angela to be a fellow senior and potential voter.

"Why scary?" Turtle asked, with a curious grin that was easily ignoring the fact that the elections that came with senior year were just about the most frightening thing in the entire world right now, holy crap.

Turtle couldn't help grinning a little at an answer like that. "Sure," she agreed. "I mean, I've been here for more than three years, and it's been like a blink of an eye, but then there's still the next step to follow!"

True, not everyone had five, ten, fifteen year plans like Turtle did, but when you did have five, ten, fifteen year plans, you got really excited to move forward with them.
