Third floor common room- Thursday night

The plan had been to curl up in the common room with a datapad so she could catch up on reports. She'd put the TV on for noise, just because she wasn't in the mood for silence today. This had changed said plan.

Currently she was sitting on the sofa, looking at the datapad during commercials, because she'd found the meta for Dirty Dancing, and after the John/Gavin gremlin bite that would live in infamy, she couldn't not watch.


[Once I saw it was on, I had to. Also I am bored enough that I might send my other student to my own CR. Fix this.]

"That's why I stole stuff from the junkyard and started building," she grinned.

"Really? What have you built?" Zayne asked.

"I built a hoverboard entirely out of spare parts." It was actually the last thing she'd worked on here.

"Really?" Zayne asked, his eyes lighting up. "Have you ever worked on swoop bikes?"

"I've worked on speeders," Jaina said. Since there was John's still downstairs. "Shouldn't be too hard to adapt to swoop bikes. Why?"

"I'm kind of a swoop fan," Zayne said in the tone of someone who was really selling his fandom short. "It comes with living on Taris. It's the swoop capital of the galaxy in my time."

"Do you get to keep up with it here?" she wondered.

"Not really," Zayne said. "But when I go back to do my reports, my friend Shad and I usually get out for a little bit to check out holos of swoop dueling. It's always a highlight of those trips."

"My dad used to race, way back when," she said. "Now I'm wishing I knew more about it."

"I can tell you a lot about the racing if you want," Zayne said.

If he had slightly less control over himself, he'd start bouncing. He liked swoop sports that much.

Jaina paused. "Go for it," she shrugged. "I can shock my dad next time I go home."
