Needing lots of room in order to work, Jean had commandeered a common room for great high school politics justice.

One needed space in order to make a bunch of posters telling people to vote for her. Ooo! Glitter! They needed to have glitter on them too.

But only a classy amount. Nothing gaudy.

"Why would anyone be lyin' to ya?" Hayley asked.

George eyed her. "Because it could be fun t'see what happens?"

"...that's a good point," Hayley said, before she giggled. "Could be lots of fun, right?"

"Ye can be th' one kissin' th' lads," George said, oh so graciously. "Because I'd rather be kissin' others!"

"...who exactly am I s'posed to be kissin'?" Hayley said. "I mean, I don't just kiss anybody, you know."

George chuckled, giving her a warm grin. "Pretty lass like ye could have yer choice, aye? No one's caught yer eye?"

"Oh, I dunno, I've only been here two days. You can't kiss anyone after knowin' 'em two days. That'd just get people calling you names," Hayley said.

"Tisn't like you're going to be canoodlin' wit' 'em," George said. "Jus' kissin'. Anyone who'd be callin' ye names for that deserves t'get punched."

"I like you," Hayley said, beaming. "More people oughta offer to punch people for me."

"I do what I can," he said, grinning back. "Now ye should be tellin' me yer name so if I hear them on radio say somethin' that should result in punchin', I can know who t'avenge."

"Hayley Fitzpatrick," she said, still smiling at him. Then again, Hayley's default expression was smiling. "And yours?"

"George Cooper," he said. "Tis a pleasure t'meet ye, Haley. One o' th' new group?"

"I guess it's obvious, huh?" Hayley said. "I'm just gonna pretend it's because you'd have noticed a girl as pretty as me before." She giggled, because she really didn't have that much of an ego.
