Needing lots of room in order to work, Jean had commandeered a common room for great high school politics justice.

One needed space in order to make a bunch of posters telling people to vote for her. Ooo! Glitter! They needed to have glitter on them too.

But only a classy amount. Nothing gaudy.

Hayley nodded, in her usual short burst of three nods. "Yes, really well. Honest."

"Good," Azula said. "I would hate to associate with anyone who fails to adapt to any situation."

Said someone who had, at first, trouble accepting different worlds and refusing to adapt to the class she was put into. But Azula wasn't talking about herself.

"What have you been up to?"

"Oh, I been learning about the future," Hayley said. "Like what's on TV and what music plays and everything."

She smiled, hoping this would please her friend.

"Teevee?" Azula repeated, enunciating the words. "What is a teevee?"

Hayley pointed over at the TV in the common room. "That," she said. "It plays shows and things."

Azula looked in the direction she was pointing. "But it is just a box."

"It's a special box," Hayley said. "Honest."

"How could it be special?" Azula considered this TV, "is it a weapon? Does it explode?"

It would be fun if it did explode.

"Well, I guess it could explode," Hayley said. "If you tried."

She could. But then there were restrictions. Tch.

"Other than the possibilities of making it go up in flames what exactly do you find so fascinating about this teevee?"

"Oh, it shows things, like I said," Hayley said. "Movies and shows and bands and everything."

"Movies?" Azula prompted. It seemed she had a lot to learn about this world.

"Oh, they're like plays, only they've already been put on in front of a camera," Hayley said.

She was about to ask what a camera was but she was beginning to tire repeating words. She was not a reptile bird.

"Show me what a movie is and I'll figure it out from there."

"You want me to go switch on the TV? I can do that, no problem," Hayley said. She hurried over to the TV and did exactly like she said, switching it on.

"Ye--" she started to retort but Hayley had hurried over and switched on the teevee and Azula stared. The images were not stationary, it even had sound.

Hayley pointed. "See! Moving pictures."

"They are moving and speakingand the colors..." she moved to take a closer look. "How fascinating."

"Amazin', isn't it?" Hayley said. "What'll they think of next?"

"And this is done, you say, with cameras?" Azula reached out to poke the teevee.

"Yeah," Haley said. "Really big ones."

She wasn't hip to new technology.

Azula spread her arms. "This big?"

Unfortunately, so was Azula.

Hayley nodded. "That big, yeah."

"I must see one, do you think the school has a camera?"

Won't they be surprised when they see a camera.

"Maybe?" Hayley said. "I mean, schools in my time didn't have 'em, but maybe they do now?"
