Fourth Floor Common Room | Friday Late Evening | 9/4

Hayley was having trouble sleeping again. She'd tried everything. Counting jumping sheep, counting sheep jumping in a minefield, the usual sort of thing. None of it was working. So Hayley padded out to the common room in her bright pink pajamas (thank you, Elle).

She turned on the TV, only to discover late night re-runs of Vanessa Saturn. Wow, TV had change a lot since her time...

[[Open to one and all]]

[[eta: collapsing asleep now, folks. Will pick up SP tags tomorrow, if that's okay.]]

Sure, if it wasn't Red Bull!

Since the last part was a little hard to communicate when you didn't talk, Jak nodded rather enthusiastically.

"And you don't mind if I c-choose?" Hinata asked, just to make sure.

... How did you mime no Red Bull? Jak made a valiant attempt to mime a bull with his hands, but gave up after two tries.

Then he just nodded again. Anything!

"Alright," she laughed softly, having no idea what he was miming but she'd gotten the answer she'd asked for anyway.

And, really, Red Bull in the middle of the night was not the thing.

She came away from the fridge with milk for herself, and a glass of apple juice for--him. "Here you go," Hinata said, offering the glass to him.

Well, it didn't look like Red Bull, anyway! Jak was pretty sure Jono would actively try to strangle him from far away if he tried that again.

Not that he was going to let that stop him if the urge ever really struck. He took the apple juice gratefully, though, grinned at her, and took a careful, careful sip.

She took a seat nearby, with her milk and added, "It's apple juice."

Apples? Jak blinked at the drink. It seemed harmless enough, though! So he gave her a thumbs up.

And promptly downed half of the whole thing. He was a growing boy.

"They're a fruit," she explained, hoping that was why he'd blinked. "Th-They're pretty popular."

[identity profile] unborn-renegade.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it was a tasty fruit. He nodded along in understanding, grinning again before digging around in his pocket for his sign. It seemed to be useful, anyway.

Note to Jak: don't attempt to get stuff and drink apple juice at the same time. It spills.

Hinata stood, setting her drink down. "I'll g-get you some napkins," she said, going to do exactly that. "You don't want to make a mess."

[identity profile] unborn-renegade.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. He blinked up, spilling a few drops onto his sign, and then fervently began to brush at his lap.

Not with the sign, thankfully. He nodded as he did so, maybe a little embarrassed.

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
She offered him a handful of napkins once she retrieved them.

"A sign?" Hinata asked, then-- "Would you like me to hold y-your juice," what there was left of it, "while you get everything sorted?"

Before he spilt more on himself?

[identity profile] unborn-renegade.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
He pulled a face that was maybe lightly embarrassed, and handed her the drink while reaching for the napkins. At the same time.

He was just going to leave his little paper sign sitting right there on the arm of the couch, thank you.

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
"You're welcome," she said, smiling and letting him have the napkins.
