Fourth Floor Common Room | Friday Late Evening | 9/4

Hayley was having trouble sleeping again. She'd tried everything. Counting jumping sheep, counting sheep jumping in a minefield, the usual sort of thing. None of it was working. So Hayley padded out to the common room in her bright pink pajamas (thank you, Elle).

She turned on the TV, only to discover late night re-runs of Vanessa Saturn. Wow, TV had change a lot since her time...

[[Open to one and all]]

[[eta: collapsing asleep now, folks. Will pick up SP tags tomorrow, if that's okay.]]

"...Maybe a little," Cal admitted with a faint grin. "I mean, that much syrup falling from the sky, you just get a little curious of how it tastes, right?"

"Not when you've a small cat th-that wants to go wherever you go," Hinata laughed. "I stayed far from any doors today."

A pause.

"How d-does it taste?" Was it the cheap syrup?

"Better than I imagined syrup from the sky tasting," was what Cal decided to offer, because, really, it was all sort of objective anyway, wasn't it? "And good call on the cat. That could only end up bad."

"And she h-hates water!" Hinata shook her head. "I guess that's a good point, about the sky. You'd th-think that the sky would make it taste fairly bad, after falling so far."

"And, you know, defying natural law."

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Natural law has no control over Fandom Island," she said, almost chidingly. "Th-There's a point where you can't rationalize it."

Though now she was going to wonder what sort of clouds had formed to rain syrup...

"No," Cal agreed, "but it's still fun to try sometimes. I mean, there are some things in even a world without maple syrup rain that can't be rationalized, too."
