The deck, Saturday afternoon

Dinah got back from her coffee chat of GREAT JUSTICE! with Daisy to find that the deck? Was decorated with streamers, balloons, glitter, noisemakers, hats, and wow, flowers.

So a keyed-up Canary was currently batting a balloon around like she was still a cat, and considering ordering a cake to go with all this stuff, wondering whose birthday it was.

"Who's having a party?" Claire asked, wandering out on the deck with a glass of iced tea.

"No idea. You haven't heard?" Dinah threw a silvery-glitter-filled balloon at her roommate, and grinned. "I keep waiting for someone to show up and kick us off the deck. But not so far."

Claire laughed and batted the balloon back in Dinah's direction. "No, I haven't heard anything about a party."

"Then we might as well enjoy it!" Tweeeeeet. "How'd your first week go? Maybe it's a party to celebrate being back?"

"It was great," she said. "My classes are awesome."

"What've you got this time?" Dinah looked around, deciding, "This set-up needs food."

"Yeah, it does. I should go raid the common rooms," Claire said. "And I'm taking Punching People for Fun and Profit, Swordplay and Critical Thinking."

"One of these things is not like the others," Dinah sang. "And ooo, Swords. Did you sign up for Fencing Club? And who's teaching the class?"

Claire giggled. "Well, they all serve the same purpose. Giving me knowledge I'll need to bring down the Company. I didn't sign up for Fencing Club because I work on Mondays but I figure I'll be learning a lot from Deadpool, even though he is crazy."

"Good plan," Dinah said approvingly. "And yes, very, very, very crazy. Zack spars with him sometimes, he loves it." Which just made Zack very, very, very crazy.

But that was cool.

"Apparently, he has a healing ability," Claire said. "That surprised me, but is kinda awesome."

"Yeah, it is," Dinah said, surprised, trying to remember if she knew that. "So I guess he's a good person to teach you to make the most of yours, hunh?"

"That's what I'm hoping," Claire said. "Guess I'll find out."

"How's Jon? Also, your boyfriend is really cute shirtless. Tell him to do that more," Dinah teased.

Claire laughed. "I'll see what I can do. When did you see him shirtless? He's been working on some project and spending a lot of time in his room lately."

"The Welcome Picnic. Keeping up a fine old tradition." She grinned. "Oh, something for classes? I'm doing P.I. research, that's where I was earlier."

"Ha, I didn't even run into him there," Claire admitted. "And I'm not sure. He didn't tell me much. What class are you doing PI research for?"

"None of them. Since I want to become one, I'm talking with the police officers here for ideas about how to go about it," Dinah said, shrugging a little. "It looks like taking college courses is a good idea, whether or not I bother to go all the way through."

"Hi Clair." Leda waved. "Where's that boyfriend of yours? Haven't seen him around lately."

"He's been busy," Claire said. "But his player finally has internets at home again I'm working on dragging him out more."

"We just had a class on that." Leda grinned. "Well, not quite, but there was dragging."
