The deck, Saturday afternoon

Dinah got back from her coffee chat of GREAT JUSTICE! with Daisy to find that the deck? Was decorated with streamers, balloons, glitter, noisemakers, hats, and wow, flowers.

So a keyed-up Canary was currently batting a balloon around like she was still a cat, and considering ordering a cake to go with all this stuff, wondering whose birthday it was.

TWEEEET!

[open!]

Jak ducked once, which was no small feat, considering how-- ahem-- tall his hair was. He had an amused smile on his lips as he did so, though, one eye squinting up at the hat.

He waved one hand as he did it. Nope, hadn't been to JGoB again--

--and then he just jumped up and tried to snatch it out of the air.

Jak had the hat now. The balloon was unimportant. Because Jak could be faster than the balloon, which he promptly showcased by spurting away from it (after giving it an odd look). Towards Dinah. With the hat.

Which he attempted to neatly deposit on her head as soon as he'd reached her.

He shook his head, reaching out to touch the hat-that-had-floated with a careful hand. When he looked up and away from it, there were questions in his eyes. How did that work? Was it eco? Where had she gotten it from? If it was, or if it wasn't?

That was a real lack of comprehension in those eyes. Why should he care, exactly? Jak rubbed the back of his head, then shrugged. That was pretty normal, as far as he was concerned. Hey, even if he hadn't grown up the way he had, the day your best friend turns into a furry little creature is the day you kind of throw the rest of it out the window.

Yeah, Jak was going to keep snagging items out of the air today, wasn't he? Especially the noisy, noisy noisemakers. He nodded again, though, and patted his stomach. He was pretty hungry as it was, and there hadn't been anything conveniently edible falling out of the sky today!

... IT had been weird, yesterday, but Jak was okay with a certain level of weird. As long as it meant he didn't wind up stuck to the floor or something.

He would've proposed a race, too, but... he had no clue where JGoB was, as you could tell by the glancing over his shoulder in confusion part.

...Whoa.

Maybe she could jump high enough to scale it? Jak could, but he didn't know how she'd--

... Yes, he was just going to run after her, in case she wound up wounding herself.

Okay, that had been pretty good, but he could do that better! A smug grin curled across Jak's face, as he neared the wall, then jumped once, his head and most of his body popping up behind it-- and then jumped again before he as much as descended, pushing off of a platform that simply wasn't there.

His fingers lightly touched the top of the wall, but the rest of him was already heading down towards the ground on the other side. He touched down neatly.

Jak shrugged one shoulder as he ran along. Nothing big. Really. He'd just been able to do that since birth. Noooothing special there.

Unless she thought it was special, obviously.

Hey, Jak was getting the hang of this game already! ... Not that he was ever liable to do anything like this back in Sandover. At all. Really. He shrugged again, and shook his head with a pained expression. He just kind of knew how? It came like that--

--and to keep in the spirit of things, he dropped, rolled down the hill, then leapt several feet out of his crouch and onwards. Not that he was showing off. No.

[identity profile] unborn-renegade.livejournal.com 2009-09-05 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yes, Jak had to throw a quick look over his shoulder to watch that, because it was still pretty cool. Come on!

... He narrowly avoided running into a dumpster himself.

One hop got him in top of it, though, and then he kept on running. Were they almost there yet? He didn't care.

Please. Jak's platformer roots were singing He pushed off of the dumpster, up onto the highest story he could using the two-jump, crouched, leapt again - hig - got onto the roof, and took off into a dash.

Once he neared the far end of the roof, he fell back into a roll, and leapt again, crossing the distance without any issue and rolling nimbly back up onto his feet.

He could do that! ... More impressively, even, as he leapt off when he was still several feet above, and landed on his own two feet.

As soon as he did, he snapped his hand up into the high-five position.

Jak was smiling back by the time she broke away, and... probably continued to do so as he padded towards the door, feeling more than a little pleased with himself. He was good.

(And she was more than a little cute. He was sixteen. He was totally allowed to show off and--)

He pushed the door open, holding it for a moment while he waited for her to join him.
