The deck, Saturday afternoon

Dinah got back from her coffee chat of GREAT JUSTICE! with Daisy to find that the deck? Was decorated with streamers, balloons, glitter, noisemakers, hats, and wow, flowers.

So a keyed-up Canary was currently batting a balloon around like she was still a cat, and considering ordering a cake to go with all this stuff, wondering whose birthday it was.

"Nice to meet you! Junior or senior?" she checked, and then gently tossed a noisemaker Ellie's way. "And how do you like the place after one season? You're still here, so either you're trapped or you're crazy."

"Yup!" Dinah said cheerfully. "Are you from here-and-now? I always assume anyone not wearing something that looks like a costume to me is, but I know that's maybe a mistake."

"It's 1996 back home, but not as far back as it is for others here," Ellie said. "So it wasn't that big a culture shock."

"Yeah, you just need to watch a couple shows of I love the Millenium and you're set. Plus, you can get out of the stockmarket before it crashes when you go back," Dinah said with a small smile. "Did you sign up for any clubs on Friday?"

"That's probably a good plan," Ellie nodded. "And I signed up for two. The sorority and fencing. I've never done anything like fencing before, but I think it could be interesting."

"I signed up for fencing too! So I'll see you in there, I guess." Dinah grinned. "I've been studying for this whole year with Arthur. I'm not terrible now, at least."
