Second Floor Common Room: Sunday Evening

It was a rather bored looking Layla who was flopped upside down on the couch and doing some channel surfing.

Currently it was on the Travel Channel and Layla was watching the host of Man vs. Food trying to scarf down the hottest curry known to man called "Phaal".

"Clearly I'm starved for entertainment," Layla said to herself with a loud sigh.

"Weird, Layla," Tara said softly, but she made the sandwich. "He s-said that. Is it supposed to be about our class or anything?"

"I know. But it tastes good to me," Layla replied. "I don't think the documentary is about the class. I think it just has to do with him."

"I think it's because of the work he used to do before he came here," Layla said with an amused look. "And because he's funny."

"Well he seems to make it interesting," Layla said taking a bite of her sandwich.

Her eyes closed in perfect happiness with the bite. "Mmm. Good sandwich, Tara. You got it just right. Someday down the road you'll make good weird food for people."

"Thanks," Tara said uncertainly. "I like it. C-cooking for people, I mean. Not fancy stuff, but ..." she flapped a little. "I like making people happy. Even when it's weird."

"I think you'll be really good at that," Layla replied with a sad little smile. "Cooking weird stuff and making people happy. Are you taking that cooking class? Maybe that would be a good thing for you."

Tara shook her head, puzzled a little over why Layla looked sad. "I'm b-busy with work and magic reserves lately. Maybe I'll take cooking next term."

Tara made a face. "But no-cook s'mores are awesome. They're like fluffernutters with chocolate!"

"I think she has a more unique palate," Layla said with a shrug. "She said it was too sweet. Which of course why I like it but... hey, she's the chef."
