Girls with Guns [Wednesday after classes]

Someone just might have shown up for club over an hour early. That might just be because someone had missed gun club. Quite a bit.

Triela had already posted the rules and readjusted them until they were juuuust so. And she'd checked all her guns. Twice. She'd even gotten out her private tea stash and brewed some. People had better appreciate that.

People needed to hurry up and show up. Eventually, they did.

"Welcome to Girls with Guns club!" she announced brightly. "Some of you have been here before, but for those of you who haven't this is club is all about guns and teaching you to use them. Whether you've got a lot of experience and just need some practice, or you're brand new and want to learn more about the things, this is the place for you."

"Today we're doing the meet and greet thing." She waved her hand. "Yeah, yeah, I know. You're all tired of it. But we're still going to do it. So everyone introduce yourselves and give us some idea of your experience with guns. Remember that 'none' is perfectly acceptable."

"Then we'll get down to business and do some shooting. If you need to borrow a gun, or want a demonstration, you're welcome to ask me or one of the other experienced people."

"I guess I'll start with the introduction thing. I'm Triela, and I'm an expert with most military small-arms. Back home I'm an assassin, and I specialize in short range engagements. If you ever need to borrow a gun I'm generally willing to help out with that."

"Who's next?"

Claire got a cup of tea and considered the incongruity of tea and guns. Though, she supposed, beer and guns would be dangerous for most people.

When it was her turn, she said, "I'm Claire and I have a little experience with guns since I grew up in Texas, but I'm not exceptionally skilled with them."

"Hey," Dinah said, waving to the room. "I'm Dinah Lance, I'm a senior, I want to be a private investigator, and all my experience with guns was through this club last spring. And a couple invasions." She gave Triela a sideways smile. "Plus some practices with Triela."

The tea was a nice touch, she thought, taking a cup and glancing at the others who'd signed up for this.

"Good afternoon," she greeted, when it was her turn. "I am Hinata, I am a junior, and simply th-thought this might be something worth knowing more of. I have n-no experience."

"Tahiri Veila," she said, mostly for the benefit of anyone new. "I'm a junior, and a Jedi Knight." Yes, she still got a little smile out of getting to say that bit, now.

"I've got two years' experience with energy-based blasters in the field, some here in Fandom but mostly at home, and I can use the Force to help guide my aim, but I'm looking at getting better without relying on that."

Leda could only stay a little while before heading to the culture fair. But she didnt' want to miss the first day of this. "I'm Leda, and I've fired a gun once or twice."

"Hayley Fitzpatrick!" she said, giddily. "I never shot anything before. I hit somebody with a crowbar once, though!"

Turtle had been sipping the tea merely out of politeness. It seemed as though she'd lost an appreciation of it over the summer, but she wondered if she even ever really liked it or if she was just being polite regarding it then, too.

But then there was intros!

"Hi!" Bounce. "I'm T.R. Wexler, better known as Turtle. I've been in this club for a while now, and have really improved with my shooting skills. I only really like to shoot when it's absolutely necessary, but it's absolutely necessary to know how to use a gun if you're going to shoot one, so I've found this club to be incredible valuable."

Karla was actually on her way to the multicultural fair when she passed by the gun club meeting. Thank the Darkness she'd had to go back to the dorms to shower. Food fights, while awesome, were very messy.

She didnt even have time for tea. Sadness.

"Hi, I'm Karla," she said as soon as she could speak without interrupting someone else. "I'm running very late, but I'm here! Uh, as for experience, Triela's been teaching me since a few weeks after I arrived. Before that, I had no idea such things existed."

Talking about guns while wearing her Weeds was a bit ridiculous, she thought.

Claire did need to borrow a gun. It took her some time to remember all the mechanics, but she got it loaded and fired off a round. She did... okay, but definitely needed a lot of practice.

Dinah got one of the practice 9mm, and and carefully took aim. The lack of practice over the summer showed, but still, not too bad. Hitting the target in the outer and the inner rings, trying to remember to account for the recoil.

Tahiri spent some time cleaning her blaster before she fitted it with a fresh power pack and found an alley.

If she looked more grimly concentrated than usual today, she was paying very, very closer attention to the slightest hint that the abomination -- the mechanical weapon wasn't setting Riina off.

Turtle didn't need to borrow a gun; she had her same trusty pistol, cleaned and ready to go, and her shots were still steady, on target, and hesitant.

Algren was there, and this semester? He actually had a gun on him. Clearly, he was moving up in the world as the supervisor of these weapons-oriented clubs.

He was refraining from firing off too many shots, even though his injuries were starting to noticeably heal, but if anyone asked for a demonstration, he'd be more than happy to fire off a few rounds.
