Someone just might have shown up for club over an hour early. That might just be because someone had missed gun club. Quite a bit.

Triela had already posted the rules and readjusted them until they were juuuust so. And she'd checked all her guns. Twice. She'd even gotten out her private tea stash and brewed some. People had better appreciate that.

People needed to hurry up and show up. Eventually, they did.

"Welcome to Girls with Guns club!" she announced brightly. "Some of you have been here before, but for those of you who haven't this is club is all about guns and teaching you to use them. Whether you've got a lot of experience and just need some practice, or you're brand new and want to learn more about the things, this is the place for you."

"Today we're doing the meet and greet thing." She waved her hand. "Yeah, yeah, I know. You're all tired of it. But we're still going to do it. So everyone introduce yourselves and give us some idea of your experience with guns. Remember that 'none' is perfectly acceptable."

"Then we'll get down to business and do some shooting. If you need to borrow a gun, or want a demonstration, you're welcome to ask me or one of the other experienced people."

"I guess I'll start with the introduction thing. I'm Triela, and I'm an expert with most military small-arms. Back home I'm an assassin, and I specialize in short range engagements. If you ever need to borrow a gun I'm generally willing to help out with that."

"Who's next?"

"A sorority?" Triela asked, eyebrow raised. "A... sisterhood?"

"That's the theory. Women supporting women, and supporting the community." Dinah tilted her head. "Some people think it's too girly, but I can't really see that being true of any of the girls who go to this school."

"But... what does it do?" Because... it didn't sound like it had a goal.

"I'm not actually sure," Dinah admitted. "I didn't sign up for it. Um. Hang out together? Doing... sister stuff?" She shrugged helplessly.

"I think I'll stick with this," Triela decided with an amused grin.

Dinah grinned back. "Well, fair enough. Hey, how about we go shopping when you've got everything back to normal, for some fun clothes? To celebrate. My treat."

"Did you win the lottery and not tell me?" Triela teased. "Because you know I buy expensive stuff..." That was a sort of yes.

"I would totally tell you! Right after I drove across the school lawn on a 2010 Triumph motorcycle!" Dinah snickered. "Nahh, I just have extra, since I'm not quitting the flower shop. It should be spent." And yes, that was sort of a yes, wasn't it?

"Well, in that case I suppose it would be rude to say no, wouldn't it?"

"Awesome," Dinah said contentedly. Having just gotten her own confidence-cute clothes, she kind of wanted to share the wealth. "And any pointers on the shooting?"

Bang! Reeeeeally close to the center, this time.

"Practice," Triela teased. "But, seriously, your stance needs to be just a little bit wider. Deeper. And tighten your grip on the gun a bit. A tighter grip gives you more control and consistency."

Dinah tightened her grip, holding it stead, and widened her legs a bit, then aimed. Bang! Even closer. "Coooool." She made a face. "And practice."

"Lots of it, yeah. The truth is you should try to shoot at least a hundred rounds a week if you can."

"Holy -- really?" Dinah mentally upped her time visiting the gun range to two more times a week at least, and shook her head. "Okay, then."

Bang!

"Well, that's more than most people do," Triela admitted. "But if you stop practicing your skills atrophy. So the more you shoot the better." Triela fired at least a hundred rounds a day when she could, but she was a special case.

Dinah was still pretty sure this wouldn't be a regular part of her career--but then again, she had another eight months here, and had to get better. "Yeah, that makes sense."

"I always make sense," Triela sing-songed in amusement.

"Except for why do you not wear ear protection, again?" Dinah sing-songed back, and stuck out her tongue. "Pbbbt."

"I do if people are going to use anything bigger than a pistol," Triela countered. Even though she totally should for everything. Even cybernetic ears could be damaged by all the noise.
