Fourth Floor Common Room | Tuesday Afternoon | September 15

Hayley was lying down on a couch, poking at the TV remote. She wasn't finding anything that was interesting at all. She switched the TV off and sighed.

"Bored bored bored," she said.

She grabbed a gossip magazine from the table and started to flip through it.

"I don't even know who any of these people are!" she said, before throwing the magazine across the room.

She was getting restless. Restless and angry.

"Well, depends," Hayley said. "What would you want to be doing?"

"Um..." Elle thought about it. "I don't know, honestly."

"Nothin' at all?" Hayley said. "Not even... anything?" Hayley swung her legs around to sit up.

"I don't really have a lot of hobbies or anything," Elle admitted sheepishly.

"Not even somebody you got your eye on, maybe we could try and set ya up?" Hayley said.

"Well..." Elle blushed, remembering that whole random make-out session with Jason Stackhouse. "Don't exactly have my eye on him, but it was pretty fun making out with this one guy..."

"Ooooh, spill!" Hayley said.

"Well... his name's Jason Stackhouse," she said, blushing a little. "I was bored and wandering around, and I wandered by his room. His door was open so I poked my head in. We talked a little, he flirted, he seemed kind of astonished that I was a virgin, and then we wound up making out."

Hayley's eyes bugged. "That wasn't your first time kissin', was it?"

"Kind of," Elle said. "First time with someone my age, anyway." Adam Monroe definitely counted as older than her, that was for damn sure.

Hayley stared in disbelief.

"What is with all the pretty girls who nobody kisses?" she said.

"I haven't really had many opportunities to kiss people, though," Elle said. "I've been pretty sheltered the past few years."

"Golly," Hayley said. "That's just a crime. I think you're very kissable."

"Really?" Elle tilted her head, looking at her. "Does that mean you want to kiss me?"

Elle wasn't always great with the logic, so it was a good idea to make sure.

Hayley scratched her chin for a second. "Would it help with your week and all?"

"Well, it would make me smile, but... you don't gotta do it or anything."

"You don't ever kiss anybody cause you gotta," Hayley said, standing up so she could move to Elle's couch. "That'd take all the fun out!"

"Yeah, I know, I just mean that I don't want you to do it unless you want to do it to make me happy."

Hey, we mentioned that logic thing already!

"I want to, oh don't worry," Hayley said. "Can I sit with ya?"

"Of course," Elle said. "Like I'm going to turn away someone who wants to kiss me?" She grinned.

Hayley sat down and scooted closer to Elle. "You ever kiss a girl before?"

Elle shook her head. "Nope," she said. "First time."

"Well, it ain't much different than kissin' a boy. Only the other person knows how to do it better," Hayley said, leaning in a little. "You ready?"

"Uh-huh," Elle said, praying as she leaned in that she wasn't going to completely humiliate herself at this. She would just die if that happened!

Hayley leaned in the rest of the way, just to give Elle a friendly little kiss. Nothing deep, nothing intense, just a simple happy kiss. Between friends.
