Hayley was lying down on a couch, poking at the TV remote. She wasn't finding anything that was interesting at all. She switched the TV off and sighed.

"Bored bored bored," she said.

She grabbed a gossip magazine from the table and started to flip through it.

"I don't even know who any of these people are!" she said, before throwing the magazine across the room.

She was getting restless. Restless and angry.

Aha! A common room! Likely many people would show up here! That made it a great place to do some campaigning. Triela showed up ready to convinced people to vote for her!

Hayley looked over from her spot and frowned. "I don't think I've met you," she said.

"I think you're right," Triela agreed. She stuck out a gloved hand. "I'm Triela."

Hayley tilted her head at the glove. "I'm Hayley," she said, finally reaching over to shake the hand.

Triela's grip was firm as she shook Hayley's hand once before letting go. "Nice to meet you, Hayley. You're one of the newbies, right?"

"Wowzers, what are you, a bodybuilder?" Hayley said, looking at Triela's hand.

Triela snorted. "Do I look like a body builder?" The answer was very obviously 'no'. Unless Hayley had a weird definition.

"Well that's one heck of a grip you got," she said.

"Oh, yeah." Triela snorted. "It's because the arm's mechanical."

Hayley suddenly laughed. "Wait, we met last week! With guns!"

"Aha!" Triela grinned. "So we did. You're the one who's a newbie at school and a newbie with guns."

"I guess?" Hayley said. "I'm new, definitely. But I'm not a bee."

"Well, I do have to admit that you're not very bee-like in appearance."

Hayley wasn't the only bored one around, which would explain Elle wandering into the common room. One of these days she'd hang out on her own floor, really she would.

Today was not that day.

She claimed a couch and sprawled out on it.

Hayley rolled over to prop up her head on an elbow.

"Oh, hey there!" she said.

"Hi," Elle said, waving cheerfully. "Long time no see."

"Too long," Hayley said with a nod. "How ya been?"

"Eh." She shrugged. "Not great, not horrible. Just kinda been."

"Well that's dull," Hayley said. "We oughta spruce that up!"

"I like the way you think." Elle grinned. "Spruce it up how?"

"Well, depends," Hayley said. "What would you want to be doing?"

"Um..." Elle thought about it. "I don't know, honestly."

"Nothin' at all?" Hayley said. "Not even... anything?" Hayley swung her legs around to sit up.

"I don't really have a lot of hobbies or anything," Elle admitted sheepishly.

"Not even somebody you got your eye on, maybe we could try and set ya up?" Hayley said.
