Pretty much the best part of this week was that it was it was over.  Also that there had been teddy bear samurai/ninha fighting in History today  That was awesome.

Beyond that?  Total loss of a week, and Rose was watching it go out to the backdrop of a Project Runway marathon.  

...not that she was interested in the show of course.  Just that there wasn't anything else on.  Really.

"By proving that they can each be more absurd than the previous person?" she asked, staring.

"Pretty much," Rose agreed. "But it provides entertainment while they're trying."

"Why does everyone always make these things about models?" she wondered, wandering over to a couch with her tea. "They don't seem particularly intelligent, and most of them seem rather strange-looking."

"What, you don't wanna look like a giraffe with funny eyes?" she asked.

"Oh yes, that has always been my highest aspiration," Aravis said dryly. "Tragedy has kept me small, but someday, with the acquisition of very tall shoes, I will achieve my dream of giraffe...dom."

"Just watch out for the neck stretcher," Rose deadpanned. "I hear that's a killer."

"I'm more worried about how I'm going to get spotted," Aravis said seriously.

"Tattoos," she said. "Or body paint. Depends on how committed you are."

"I'd likely have to be very committed, indeed, if there's stretching of necks involved," she noted thoughtfully.

"God, I hope so," Rose said lightly. "Otherwise you just have a long neck and nothing else going on."

"I mean, I'm sure it would be terribly convenient in certain aspects in life," she decided.

Kissing people who were much, much taller than you, for one.

"You mean like seeing over the heads of people in crowds?"

"And seeing things at a distance! It'd be useful in a tactical sort of way."

And kissing people who were much, much taller than you, yes. Though the men Aravis tended to kiss usually topped out at about a foot taller than her.

"If your eyes are good enough, it shouldn't make that much of a difference," she pointed out. "But there's still the 'seeing what's in the cupboards over the counter' problem."

That was because Aravis was not a moron like Rose.

"I usually climb on the counter to accomplish that," Aravis replied. "That would be useful, yes."

See, she was also a moron.

"Yeah, me too," Rose admitted. "Except then you get the jackass who comes in and decides to mock you for climbing on the counter so you have to throw the sugar or soemthing at him."

"Waste of sugar," Aravis declared. "I generally opt for telling them I shan't share whatever it is I'm reaching for. Or else I throw the peanut butter or something, barring that."

"Onions are good for that too," she pointed out. "And they're a nice shape to really whip at 'em."

"Plus they smell!" Aravis replied, nodding. "I'll remember that."

Rose laughed and gave her a tiny salute. "Happy to help. Especially in getting the haters their due."
